My buddy and I were fishing on the NY side of Lake Champlain, right near Port Kent, NY, Beautiful sunny day ,slight breeze. You get the idea. Well anyways, all of sudden it got really choppy, winds really picked up, 4' tall+ waves , one big ass wave smashed over the back of my 17' triton bass boat( its a center consolde boston whaler style), water mustve somehow gotten into the gas tank. Waves started pounded one after another. We went to shore, on a random beach. We had no choice. Water filled my hull ,, we ran to put everything on land. What a disaster trip. We waited it out for 4 hours, freezing. Some nice people helped us shovel out gallons of water with milk jugs. we got it floating off the beach again. Well, the motor got water in it. Its a 06' mercury 60hp efi 4 stroke, Its getting a new vapor cannister, fuel lines, had an injector sent out to get serviced...$800-1000 i was told. Its at a mercury dealer. WIsh me luck, glad im safe
