  1. I want to keep this kinda short and sweet because I tend to ramble on a lot. I fish from my kayak and from the bank mostly while I save up for a boat to get me on the river. My favorite lures are chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, worms/creatures, and of course anything and everything topwater. Trying to get better/love anytime I get a bite on a jig too. I've been fishing for only bass for about 2 years now pretty much every week and multiple times a week when life doesn't get in the way. Still haven't been able to get a 5+ pounder yet so that's my goal for this year. Ive tried another forum but it seemed to be just a place to show off the fish they caught for the day and no real discussion. Alright now now it's getting a little long so I'm going to cut it off here. Looking forward to having a spot to discuss what I love.
  2. Hi guys and gals if there are some here. Just figured I would put up this post to introduce myself. I have been lurking here in the shadows for some time but figured I would create an account. My name is Chris and I am in SE Wisconsin. I have been fishing my whole life but got more into bass fishing about 5 years ago. At that time I bought myself a boat just a Tracker pro team 175 txw but it gets the job done and well. For the last several years my boat has gone just about unused due to my job as a Firefighter/ Paramedic working tons of hours. Jump to now I have more time to fish when my body allows it. One thing I hate is I have no friends or family that are into fishing. My wife loves to go out with me but she would rather just enjoy being on the boat than fish which I have no problem with but sometimes it is nice to just have someone to fish with or against. Well I dont want to make this to long so I'll leave it at that and I am looking forward to interacting on here.
  3. Hey all! My name is David and I just got started on this website. I never grew up bass fishing, and it wasn't until my third year of college that I went for the first time. I was hooked. I joined the bass fishing team at EWU and have been lunker chasing ever since. Can't wait to learn from and interact with all you fine folk! Tight lines, David

    Minnesota!

Hi All, I just got into fishing this year and I'd like to introduce myself. I live in the Twin Cities, MN, and have been exploring the lakes around the cities. I'm mostly looking for bass, but our state's lakes are pretty well-known for walleye and northerns. I read a few fishing books and watched a bunch of YouTube videos and I'm excited to learn more on this forum!
  5. Hello everyone, I have been bass fishing for the past ten years, and have become more and more serious each year. I live on the MA/NH border, so unfortunately I have a relatively short season, so I make the most of it and fish as much as possible, generally 5 days a week. I am looking to take the next step and fish new waters, and am considering fishing local tournaments next sumer as well, so thought this would be a great asset to meet likeminded people. I dropped the boat off at the marina for storage two weeks ago, and already the bait monkey has a hold of me, lots of new square bills to try out in the spring- thus the username. Drop me a line if your in the area. Jordan
  6. Afternoon all, Like the title says, living in the DFW area since 2005. Prior to I was a 3rd generation coon ass born and raised in New Orleans. Spent my life fishing the coast for red and specks. Katrina put a kink in things around 2005 and we relocated to Dallas. Money was too good to go back. I fished 50 days a year till I moved to Texas. Going from salt to fresh was just not something I ever wanted to consider. Kiddie pools (thats what I call em) just didn't interest me and the fact that all but like one are man made just stripped the passion away for me. 8 years later...I can't take it anymore. I hear fishing down in the DFW is great for Crappie, Bass, Stripers and Cats. Figure its time to stop being a water snob and get back out there. Sadly I know NOTHING about fresh water fishing. I was going to throw a tackle box together and head out to test my luck. If you guys had to list 4 or 5 "must have lures" to have in my box for Bass and Crappie, what would you recommend? Over in the Salt Water world we had some pretty universal "go to" lures and bait. Thinking Freshwater has to have something similiar. Thanks for all your help! CE
  7. Just thought I'd introduce myself - name is Brian, I'm 36, started fishing as a kid with my grandmother who was the main fisherman in the family. All we ever did was bank fishing in ponds and lakes for catfish, bream and bass - mostly catfish though. Have just in the last couple of years started fishing for bass and using plastics, etc. grew up using everything zebco and actually still have a zebco 33 and 404. I hope that isn't fuel for huge debates here - ha - I haven't fished much since I was a kid and just never branched out to anything else really. Took my 3 year old daughter fishing for the first time the other day and I think she loved it, until the fish flopped and scared her half to death! Looking forward to getting to know everyone here!
