  1. I just got three nice fishing Raggs that my GF made for me I like them big size double sided and nice clips, Also nice design for fabrics.
  2. Ok the story starts when house keeper bought new mop and when I asked her what was wrong with the last one, she said it was short and make her bend when mopping and cause her pain. So immediately I remember about expensive rubber net Frabill brand that I bought from big 5 8 years ago(I paid $40 for that net). That is a rubber net, very strong and good quality, but very short handle. So I cut the end of the net handle and cut the metal handle of mop and they were exactly same diameter, so inside diameter of hole on net handle and outside diameter of mop handle where exactly the same and I couldn't push it inside. Then I burn the paint on metal handle and Mae it hot about 8" and push it in rubber/plastic handle of net and I was able to push the all 8" in the hole. Then I use the hot glue for the application and put around the contact which it wasn't necessary because it is like very solid, But as I have two digit fishes time to time I want to get your idea about what I can do to make this handle forever. here are the pictures of fish products. Sorry to make it such big project, but it is important for me if you guys did anything the same and what you did. BTW the new handle is awesome and also extendable which I love.
  3. I've been doing my best to not buy any new tackle as I have new tackle that's never been out of the box. Last year I mostly bought replacement tackle such as Senkos and Zoom Super Flukes. Although I did buy a bunch of frogs to experiment with when I was making Homemade Whopper Frogs. Last year the only new lures I bought were 2 Berkely Choppos and 2 Whopper Plopper 75's; both worked awesome. The WP 75 my favorite Whopper Plopper and the Choppo also worked well and at 1/2 the cost of the WP. I'm a topwater fanatic am willing to accept 2 topwater bites over 10 regular bites. My favorite topwaters are the Whopper Plopper and Homemade Whopper Frog/Teckel Sprinker Frog. This year I only bought Senkos and what I needed to make Homemade Whopper Frogs. I had to buy Homemade Whopper Frog parts because I gave all of mine away to friends because they were working so well. I hope I bought enough! At least I can say I finally beat the Bait Monkey.
  4. I just finished my attempt to create a dying gizzard shad. Any opinions or tips for me? Just curious what would be the most you guys would be willing to spend on a bait like this one?
  5. I have a poison tail jig mold and I want to modify it to fit bait keepers. Does anyone know how I would do this and how much it would cost?
  6. I have almost everything I need to make my own crank-baits. Can anyone tell me to get some good cheap stainless steel wire? I plan on making lures that can catch a 4 pound bass or so.
  7. Hey Bass Resource community! I got a question for ya. I am in the process of launching my own little ... i don't even know what you wanna call it too be honest haha. But I am currently looking into jig making. I would like to buy my molds from Do-it, but ran into a few questions about hooks and what not. My jigs will quality jigs with quality materials, equipped with a nice, heavy duty hook. I am not interested at all in using the Mustad hook that Do-It suggests for the mold. Q: Will I be able to use Owner 5317 hooks with the Do-It Weedless Brush Jig Mold? If not out of the box, what kinds of modifications would one have to do to the mold.
  8. I'm getting into making my own glide baits out of wood. I am planning on weighting them with lead inserts. Does anyone know how putting the weight in different locations will affect the action? I know it needs to be balanced to keep the bait horizontal but I am curious how the action will be affected by moving the weights closer to the joint vs. closer to the ends.
  9. I have tried looking on the internet on how to DIY a simple cart like carrier with wheels to carry my Bass Raider from truck to water. I have patched the bottom twice from dragging over rough terrain. I did see one with galvanized retractable wheels but can't figure out how it was done. Any ideas? I need to make something that I can put inside the truck because a lot of the places I fish are hard to get to in a big boat. If the "carrier" is left in truck bed,it might be gone when I return.
  10. Alright, so yesterday while in the midst of a new project on my Jon boat I found that the foam in my boat was completely water logged. It was so bad that I could cut a chunk of it out and squeeze the water out to the point where it must have lost like 20X it's weight. I then realized that it was the reason my 1448 seemed to weigh 600 pounds and the reason that the tongue weight on my trailer was just more than 25 pounds. I concluded it absolutely needed to go. The problem is that I don't just want to replace it. All over online people seem to just hate foam weather it is closed cell or not, and I can now say that I share that hatred. Point of the matter I just don't know what to put in instead of foam. I thought that maybe instead I would get some big inter tubes at Fleet Farm, and just inflate them with like 5 psi every season. I thought that maybe I would fill the compartments with milk jugs and small plastic pop bottles, and I also even considered filling one of the compartments with some orange life jackets. I don't know what I am going to use yet, so I just want to know what you guys think would be the best alternative to foam. I realize that foam has great sound dampening quality's, and that is the sweet spot I'm trying to find. All help is appreciated, and 'bad' ideas are welcome too; some how I seem to like them more anyways.
  11. Hello, recently I have upgraded the motor on my Jon boat from a 2.3 Honda 4 stroke, to a 9.9 Yamaha 4 stroke. Although there are a plethora of benefits from switching, I have found so far only one dilemma; that being It's a long shaft. One of my main reasons to buy a Jon boat was to have the benefit of cruising into the shallow waters that I fish. With a long shaft that isn't even possible to conceive. Being of no income at this time, I am planning to build a jack plate here shortly without the extensive use of welding. While thinking (Lets be honest, daydreaming) about this at school about a week ago I came to the cold truth that building a variable height plate would be to difficult and require a great deal of welding. So my question to you is- Where should my prop (or the main fin just above the prop) be in correlation to the bottom of my boat as a general standard? I want to be able to get the best performance out of it as well but just don't know how high is too high or too low is too low. Any help would be appreciated.
