  2. Several years ago I bought a Storm Chug Bug, 1/4 oz size in shad color. The bait became a favourite of mine. I caught many bass on this bait, and, bought an identical Chug Bug as a spare. Even though these two baits are identical, I've never caught one single fish on the spare lure. Both of these are original, Pre Rapala Chug Bugs and are the same in every way. When I used to fish crankbaits more often, I had a similar experience with a pair of Rebel deep divers. Both the Rebels were the same also, but one caught fish far better than the other. I'm wondering if others have had a similar experience with two identical baits? I don't have an explanation. Have you ever had this happen? What baits? And can you explain why?
  3. bass are getting ready to bed and in some places already on beds! What are you throwing at them? Or what do you plan to throw at them? !!!!!
  4. I've had a lot of people asking me if I know what happened to the lure brand XCalibur. They were popular for their hard baits such as the Xr50 rattle bait, Zell Pop, and the XCS Square Bill. Personally, the Xr50 is the best trap to ever be made. More specifically in the Pearl Melon color. The reason for their disappearance is not because they went out of business. The manufacturer of XCalibur baits, Pradco, is also the manufacturer of BOOYAH. Much like Pure Fishing is the manufacturer of Abu, Berkley, and other companies. They simply took the most popular baits and reincarnated them under BOOYAH. The previously known Xr50 is now the Hard Knocker. Likewise, the Zell Pop is now the Boss Pop. I wouldn't be surprised if they come out with a reincarnation of the XCS. The baits still catch fish.. And big ones. Try them out if you have not yet!
  5. Alrighty guys I'm looking to get more into flat sided crankbaits this spring on hard cold fronts and how to fish them more effectively. I like the Jackall Bling 55, 6th Sense Crush Flat, and the DT-Flat. What rods do y'all use for your flat siders? The majority of my fishing is shallow wood and grass lines.
  6. I'm new to this site so I figured Id start a forum on something I wanted to know. So whats everybody's all time favorite spawn and prespawn largemouth bass lures or baits. Any answer is better than no answer.
  7. What length, action, and power rod do you use for hard topwater baits. I plan on this rod being able to handle the following baits, crankbait style wake baits, spooks, poppers, and prop baits. Thanks Capt.O
