  1. So, one day I was listening to someone talk, like normally I do with A.D.D. than the idea popped up into my head of making a little "vehicle" or sub to mount a series of GoPros or FPV cameras (which probably won't work as the signal will be horrible due to water.) I want to do a cheap, little DIY type device, that I can mount a series of GoPros with lighting and a possible power source. Than I would raise and lower it on my kayak. But, every design I "created", I can't achieve a straight line. There is a wobble or drag of some sort. I am no engineer but have others done something like this? Or idea on something regarding mounting underwater GoPros. Here in northern minnesota, we have some mining pits that they fill up and they go hundreds of feet. One that I grew up cliff jumping at, I just threw the GoPro on a leader and threw it out there and God, it was beautiful. It's another world down there. Scary. If this doesn't make sense to you, no worries. I have issues transferring what is in my brain to other people in ways they can understand.
  2. I recently picked up two hero 5 blacks. I am not impressed with the limited functionality of GoPro Quick. Looking for suggestions for a free to moderate cost program that people like. Would be nice to have music included, and easy slow motion. Also, any filming / editing advice is welcome
  3. Whats up everyone? Thanks for visiting my thread! I'm basically here to learn more from the veterans of bass fishing! thanks for visiting my thread and i look forward to conversing with everyone and learning/sharing information with all! Nick
  4. Just wondering whats some good baits for fall fishing and when exactly does fall fishing start. im from ky if that helps with region and stuff
  5. Right now I have a GoPro on a chest mount and i was wanting to hear other ways I could film myself fishing other than with my chest mount. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or tips. Thanks
  6. Did a little fishing on a local power plant lake last weekend, and threw together a quick gopro video. Caught nothing but white bass and dink largemouth, but it's still fun to catch them shallow in the winter! I'll be posting more videos on my channel, so keep an eye out if you want to see more power plant lake fishing.
  7. Many of you make your own fishing videos, and I would love suggestions on equipment needed for starting to make my own videos. I am going to be giving myself a gift when I lose 30 lbs ( 9 lbs down in my first 2 weeks!). Some things to consider when contemplating a list for me. 1. I usually bank fish or use my small 8 foot plastic boat with a trolling motor. 2. My wife and I are both in education, so lets not look at the highest end materials. 3. Include video editing program suggestions. 4. I anticipate just documenting my fishing excursions at this point, but may want to expand into reviews and how to's. (Just like 2.3 million others, I know). Thanks for all input, suggestions, and tips! Love posting on here and hope to show off all my tiny Kansas bank fishing bass catches soon!
  8. flipping my 8" manns worm into this thick structure I pulled this sweet bass out of the trees in 12' of water. Water temp only 54 degrees in the surface and dropping fast.

  9. my son-in-law put his GoPro on his paddle blade and took this photo. You can see the bullet weight but not the worm. big bass hoping to get away.

  10. I was letting the wind blow me down along a big shallow area where I really didn't expect to catch anything, just passing through, but couldn't resist pounding the bank and pulling this white 3/8 oz spinner with a large chunk trailer to pass the time as I was standing up and the wind was taking me to my next "good spot". In 12" of water, no cover, late October(water temp was 59 degrees according to my Raymarine Dragonfly) this bass came out of nowhere and smashed the spinner 10' from my Big Rig kayak. He fought hard, but I had 20 pound test line and brought him in fast, with no structure to get in the way it was an easy catch. Still, I was shocked at the location of this bass. Didn't catch any other big ones all day, and it was a relatively slow fishing day- 8 bass 6 hours. This one made my day, however!

  11. I caught my biggest walleye yet a few days ago, and I managed to get it on video so I thought I'd share it with you guys. I know there's a lot bigger walleyes out there, but I really don't fish for them all that much so it was sweet to hook into a bigger one!
  12. Fished Lake Sawyer on the trolling motor till the big motor is fixed and got 5 keepers and two dinks....6 Smallies and a Lil Largie.... got a couple on video including a bed fish that you can see on the video next to a dock that pound a texas rigged lizard!! http://youtu.be/MAOANn6qYFw
  13. Hey everyone, I'm looking at buying a gopro, but don't really know what the advantages are for the more costly options (silver and black edition). Are the features really worth it to pay an extra 100-200? I'll be filming bank and kayak fishing and uploading to Youtube. Just want to be able to share some of the great fishing I get to do in Florida and then from the Yak once I'm back home. Thanks in advance for any advice!
  14. GOPRO camera Hero3: files .thm and .lrv How to take advantage of the files generated by the camera GOPRO Hero3? First you copy all the files on your computer (.mp4, .thm, .lrv). Then: You take your .thm and you change the extension to .jpg (or simply you add .jpg). You take your .lrv and you change the extension to .mp4 (or simply you add .mp4). What's the point? File (.thm).jpg shows your sequence. You can you use it as thumbnail in example. File (.lrv).mp4 is a low resolution version of your video. Useless? No, rather clever. This low resolution version allows you to do your editing on your old laptop. And only before starting the final export HD videos you replace the low res file by the original .mp4 HD using the same file name. Conclusion: keep all original files generated by your GOPRO Hero3. Cool, no? Info was taken from a website I found but I did test it and it does work! I was doing some swimming with the family today. Here are some fun pics from the day just messing around. Poor guy. Didn't quite fit.
