  1. Hey BR, Recently hit the lake and got into some topwater. Attached is a new Video of the day that includes thought process, baits, and all the good details! Thanks for watching! JN
  2. I have been seeing a TON of shad in my local fisheries.(Alabama) Some of the shad are deeper, 10-30 feet, and I can see them with my graphs. Some are shallow in the backs of the creeks. We can see big bass constantly feeding on the shad in the backs of the creeks, but we are not able to get any of them to bite anything. Has anyone figured out any tricks to catching bass that already have millions of real shad to eat? Im open to all ideas or tricks to getting them to bite. I would also like some input on catching bass suspended around bait balls. Thanks!
  3. Does anybody throw 12 inch worms in the fall. What areas should I target and what time of day?
  4. I've always been baffled as to why so many put their boats away so early. I know there's a lot of people up here who start winterizing things right after Labor Day weekend. There's still a ton of time to fish, not to mention fall is one of the best times to catch some of the biggest fish of the year. This year I've been lucky enough to do just that. Although our fall hasn't been really warm, it's been consistent. What's more, the night time temp hasn't been dropping out enough to cool the water significantly from week to week. The last two weekends the water temps have been hovering in the low 50's and has made for some good fishing. I haven't been doing tremendous numbers wise, but what I've given up in quantity, I've more than made up for in quality. Most fish have been falling for a crankbait, but a jerkbait and jig have also brought in some good fish. Here's the highlights of the last two weekends:
  5. I haven't posted in a while and it's only fair to post what's going on to help others... Last Monday, Brian and I hit Twin Lakes in Salisbury, CT at about 9:30. We were stocked with meal worms, medium sized shiners and enough gear for four men. We were told by a local that the Salmon were biting and jumping. We were also told the Browns were jumping literally out of the water. We didn't have to go far. Just beyond O'Hara's landing, salmon were flying out of the water. We rigged up meal worms with a long liter and let them sit. On other poles, Brian was running a spoon, and I ran a yellow inline spinner with a flashy red hook. I caught my first Copehagan (sic) ever. I wished I weighed it, because the record is only like 2.4 lbs in CT. Shortly after, I caught another salmon that oozed eggs everywhere in the boat. I tried to get her back out quickly. Brian didn't hit the salmon, but found himself landing a massive pickerel that devoured his shiner. This was all before eleven. The weather sucked. It was cloudy, windy, and the water was choppy. We hit the other lake with no action in the shallows or in the fifteen foot range of water. The vegetation looked strangled in the shallows. Back on the main lake, Brian landed his first salmon of the day. They were still jumping around, even at 3 in the afternoon. All in all, a good day. Only so many more of these days left....
  6. I try my luck after work at the creek for some smallmouth, I catch some but nothing big. Most of them in one spot.
  7. Where can i find all the big bass in the fall? are they in deeper water?
