  1. Hi guys, I need some good suggestions about a decent budget/backup sensitive bottom contact rod for light jig/worm application. I usually fish in highland reservoirs with clear water with rocky bottom and some tree and brush piles but very few heavy cover spots. Fishing depth in 10 to 30 feet. Just finished to upgrade my boat with new front unit and a new trolling motor, so no much money to spend in a new rod. I'm looking for a a light jig and worm casting rod for 1/2 at max to use with 12 to 14 lbs line. The rods I can afford and get here in EU are the following ones: Discontinued 2018 Loomis E6X 843, 844mbr, 853 and 854jwr for 170. I read a lot of reviews about them and can't figure out what is the best one for the use I need. Some loves MBR and some prefers JWR flex for b.contact. The new Shimano curado 7'2 M and MH for 135 I would like to try the Dobyns Kaden but no way I'll pay 260 for a rod that in US has the same price of Sierra line that I can consider in 703 or 733model. For +50 I can get the Champ.Xtreme St Croix Mojo that I owned in 7'1 MH felt mushy and not sensitive at all, so I sold it. I hope to have some suggestions from you guys, thanks in advance!
  2. Guys I’ve been looking hard for the past few weeks trying to find an upgrade to my E6X WUR 901-2S. I mainly twitch 3/8 jigs and spoons for coho and steelhead. The E6X has handled some big steelhead surprising well but now I’m ready to upgrade. My issue is I need a 2 peace due to packing it around from spot to spot bush wacking. What are your thoughts on the IMX 9000 2S Hot Shot, is it enough of a upgrade to make a noticeable difference. Or can you think of a better high end 2 peace ?
  3. Big brown truck just dropped off some new fishing gear for me. Shimano Stradic CI4+ 3000 *** *** 6.6:1 G. Loomis E6X MH/F 7’ If the temp gets above freezing this week I’ll go out and give these a whirl and report back.
  4. I’m looking for a new casting rod for all around use around a 7ft MH. I was thinking about either a Dobyns Fury, a St Croix Mojo Bass, or a G Loomis E6X which I could get for around $110 with the varsity shimano program. Can anyone give me some insight to which rod performs the best? I’m open to other rods too if you have suggestions. Thanks
  5. Hi BR, Hope everyone is having a hell of a summer. After I Cast 2017, a big release was the Conquest rods by G loomis and Shimano. It seems they have finally woven the best of the two organizations technology and come up with CONQUEST. Any thoughts on these rods? $650 USD. WOW Tight lines -Drunkentigerrr
  6. Hey guys, I may get a G. Loomis E6X, if yall could give me some honest opinios/ reviews on it it would help a ton, Thanks
  7. Thinks about getting a G.loomis e6x rod is 189.99 worth it, or would a better choice be like a Dobyns Furry or Savvy. Thanks for your Addvice
  8. Looking to buy a new rod for light punching and flipping Texas rigs/jigs in heavy cover, is the G loomis e6x flip/punch suitable for me? Is it worth $200? But the most important factor is if it is sensitive. I really need to feel every little bump, stick, and bite. I'm also open to any other rods around or under 200 dollars, any suggestions? Any info will help, thanks
  9. Hey fellas, I am an occasional reader of the forum, and though you guys might could offer some advice on a new rod and reel setup for me. I am looking for a new setup to throw a spinnerbait with that is strictly dedicated to that. I like to fish Kentucky Lake at night, and one of my go to baits is a spinnerbait thrown at the points on the main lake. My delima is this. I have basically decided on getting a Shimano Curado as the reel in the 6.3:1 retrieve; but the rod choice is more difficult. I would really like to try the new e6x rods out, but the one that they have denoted for a spinnerbait (the 812c) is only rated for 3/8-1/2 oz baits. As most of the baits i throw in my situation are 1/2oz or bigger this is probably not the correct rod for me, but i was curious about some other models. Does anyone have any experience with the e6x and if so, would the 803c or the 853c be a good choice? If not, are there any other suggestions? I would really like to stay under the $200 range. Thanks for any help!
  10. I'm looking to get a new setup and I was originally looking at the dobyns savvy 766 and pairing that with the lews super duty reel. But I just came across the gloomis e6x series and wondered if it would be better than the dobyns. For me I want the lightest gear without losing too much power for this price range. So I wasn't sure if anyone on here had fished either of these rods. Now when it comes to a reel I also discovered the 13 *** and C reels from one of my friends. I love it, it is so lightweight and smooth and I'm going to get one for my jigging and plastics rod. But my main concern is the durability of the reel. I'm going to be using heavy braid (60lb) and I don't know if the 13 reels can handle it. I know the super duty can because that's what's it's made for but the super duty reels are on the heavier side at 8 oz. The reason I'm so sceptical is because I had braid destroy my drag on my Abu Garcia revo SX and I don't want the same to happen if I get the 13 reel. Would love any opinions and suggestions. Thanks
