  1. I have had my DC reel for about 5 months now and I have it on an ALX Solo Deputy with 17lb fluoro. I does it job very well but I just think its on the heavy side especially when I switch to my Tatula CT Type R or Zillion. I want something that performs like that but lighter. Maybe its the rod that is making it feel heavy. Any thoughts would help, thanks.
  2. Looking at the 7’1 MH X-Fast Kistler Helium 3 and the ALX Zolo Deputy for Jigs and T-Rigs. Fishing open water and relatively light cover, 3/16 oz t-rigs and 3/8 oz and 1/2 jigs. I know people like a heavier rod for 1/2 jigs, but I’m looking to be able to throw 3/8 oz and 1/2 oz in the same rod. The He3 is on sale for $221 right now while I would probably get a custom Deputy (change colors and grips) for around 240-250.
  3. Been looking all around for a 150$ pitching and sometimes flipping rod. I think the ikos might be the one. Any feedback will help. My reasons are good reviews, smaller business, American made, and a good warranty. Which model should I get for pitching 1/2 Oz jigs in laydowns, moderate grass (varied types), some light lilypads (and sometimes moderate to heavy), and sometimes rock as well. Thanks and have a nice day!
  4. Hi guys just purchased a curado 200k 7.4 hg for jig fishing. I’m looking to pair it up with a alx rod probably the Zolo Dragger but I’m told they had a semi micro guide system on them and I prefer to run braid to a flouro leader will this be an issue with these guides? I can’t stand it when my leader knot catches. Also my current highest end rod I own is a lews Mach 2 speed stick (im8 version) and dropping 200+ on a rod is kind of a big deal for me. I feel that the lews is pretty sensitive will I see a huge difference between these two rods? (Iknow it is quite subjective) or should I save my money and go with an ikos or another lews stick? Thanks!!
  5. Can anyone speak to these rods, primarily the Zolo series, in regards to performance, sensitivity, and quality of build. Thanks SNK
  6. Just want to see peoples opinions on what group they would choose...(Some of you may not choose either, your opinions are welcome also.) Need two rods that I have opening's for in my aresenal (because I sold off a few). I need one for a jig rod/Trig rod with total weight ranging between 1/2-5/8, and one rod for senko/t-rigs < 3/8. Reels that I have available to put on these rods are a Chornarch 50E, Curado 50E, and a Curado 200G. Here are my groupings on the two rod brands/models I have decided upon, I have done a lot of research on them, both are highly regarded, so it's time to see what they are all about. Unfortunately, I can only get two and not all four. I am not sure yet what reel I will put on which rod. Group A - Megabass Orachi XX Perfect pitch - Jig/Trig - ALX Deputy - Senko/light Trig Group B - Alx Toadface or Dragger - Jig/Trig - Megabass Orachi EMTF - Senko/light Trig
  7. I am looking for a rod whose primary purpose is to fish 3/8 oz - 1/2 oz spinnerbaits (mostly 3/8), but can also in a pinch be sensitive enough to fish T-rigs up to 3/8 oz and maybe a light 1/4oz jig & trailer. I know, that is quite the range of lures. I think I have narrowed it down to 3 rods that may be versatile enough to do this, so in no particular order. 1. *** Black MF - 1/4 to 3/4oz - (some claim it fishes closer to a MHF than a typical MF.) 2. Kistler Helium 3 MHF - 3/16 to 7/8oz 3. ALX - "Deputy" MHF - 1/4 to 1oz looking for any opinions or considerations from those of you who have fished one or more of these rods for the applications I listed above, it will be much appreciated. They all run around 250.00 (which includes shipping on the ALX rod if ordered thru their website) and is in the range I am looking spend. I am not overly concerned about warranty because if it is a mfg defect, I typically discover that sooner than later. Thanks everyone.
