  1. Hello everyone, This is my first post on this site. I'm looking for some help. Last week I went to dicks sporting goods and purchased a 7'1" Medium fast action St Croix MOJO BASS baitcasting rod. And I paired the rod with my Lew's Tournament MB Speed Spool and the casting distance significantly dropped. Like its horrible. So I switched to my shimano curado and the same thing happened. But if I put these reels on my abu garcia vengeance 6'9" Medium Heavy they cast perfectly fine, almost triple the distance. I am using the rod within the specifications. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Both of these reels are not even 1 month old thanks! - Colin
  2. I am torn between buying the bass pro shops pro qualifier and the pflueger supreme baitcasting reels. Any advice or experience with either?
  3. Hey all, I have a strange request, and I am really hoping you can help make a fellow angler smile. My bestest friend in the world, and sole fishing buddy, had a severe accident earlier this week - the day before we were going to take our first fishing trip of the season. When I say severe I mean it, he broke his neck, and while he isn't paralyzed he won't be fishing anytime soon. I'm looking for a good place around NOVA to live catch a few tiny bluegill to throw into a tank and then wheel him over for a "fishing surprise." It's just something to make him smile. I'll release them afterwards. Since he can't really go outside I want to bring the outside to him. As for the legality of capturing, I'm a science student and have several large holding tanks that are simulated rivers. They are mock ups of local ecosystems and I have the proper permits to catch, study and release. I've already pre approved this, I just have to document the location of the catch site. I promise I won't be fishing. If it's your sweet spot for something else I promise to not return (minus to release) and never share the location with anyone. You have my solmn word. I'm looking for somewhere around leesburg ish but willing to travel to herndon, reston, chantilly etc. Just somewhere easily accessible, with a good population so I don't upset the balance by temporarily removing some. I'm not usually looking for little bluegill so I'm drawing a blank. I just moved near Broad Run, but haven't explored any of it yet. Please help me out. I really, truly and honestly just want to put a smile on my best friend's face.
