So I thought I'd pick the brains of some experts. As this is not something I can easily find articles on.
Scenario.
Drought conditions brining the lake down to 24%. Droughts lasted two years. Fish are just coming off a post spawn pattern. We have rising condition. 24-27%. With flow into the lake. Not yet flossing vegetation.
This is mudding up over half the lake.
This is a very small lake with limited spots on a tournament. It usually fishing as an offshore bite when full.
How would you approach this. I've been trying to follow fish deeper by with fishing pressure and little to no structure pass 15ft it isn't too Easy.
The temp is around 73.
I've tired the river inlet areas which are about 4-8 foot and very muddle with rattle traps and chatter baits without much luck. But want to know if they fish would move to flowing water to eat.
Side notes. This lake is in South Africa
I know that most people would say a 7 foot medium heavy fast action rod is the best all around rod for bass fishing. this would be easy, but companies all have different standards. what would be the best for all around? a stiffer medium heavy which would be a heavy in g. loomis's standard or a medium heavy g. loomis which would be medium in st. Croix's standards. these are just a few, please say what your choice for the best all around rof would be.
Hello, I've been on the market for a new m/h fast action rod. I've been looking at the st. Croix legend xtreme, and I was wondering if the rod is any good and if there is a better rod for the same price or less.
Today I was on a new lake, We found males making beds in one specific spot in a canal, water was 57.5. About 8 ft in the middle of the canal. My question is where are the females when the males are making beds?
Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this site. I'm looking for some help. Last week I went to dicks sporting goods and purchased a 7'1" Medium fast action St Croix MOJO BASS baitcasting rod. And I paired the rod with my Lew's Tournament MB Speed Spool and the casting distance significantly dropped. Like its horrible. So I switched to my shimano curado and the same thing happened. But if I put these reels on my abu garcia vengeance 6'9" Medium Heavy they cast perfectly fine, almost triple the distance. I am using the rod within the specifications. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Both of these reels are not even 1 month old thanks!
