  1. Is there a rod size/ action/ power that would work well for both trout and crappie? I mostly fish for bass and would like to add just one rod that could be used for crappie and trout- is that possible? Price would be under $100 for rod and reel. I would be fishing mostly in ponds but would want to try streams for trout. Thanks guys!
  2. I am looking for spinning rod for my President reel. I am between the Dobyns Fury 703SF or the Mojo Bass. From what I read, they seem comparable, maybe the furys action is rated higher then it seems and the mojo's action is rated lower then it seems...that is what i got out of my research. I mainly texas rig senkos. I can get the fury for $105 to my door and the mojo bass for $110 to my door. Any more thoughts? thanks Im leaning dobyns cuz of their lifetime warranty....and i already have a 734c...so matching is nice, but a diversified portfolio is good too...
  3. Went out fishing today with my old rod and think it may be too light. Its a ultralight 6.6" rated at 4-6lb line with a old spinning reel. I caught a few small mouth bass with it today, about 10in long, and had trouble reeling them in. Tried to adjust drag and that didn't help. Put on some crank lures and it felt heavy, almost like a fish took the lure. So I'm in the market for a new rod/reel. Im looking for a good off-shore medium rod, either spinner or baitcaster reel, that can be cast pretty far and would be good for bass. All for under $100. Also, would lures would you recommend? Going to pick up a rattle trap, any others I should try? Also, what line weight should I pick up? Thanks in advance! I had a blast fishing today, brought back old memories when I was a kid.
