Thanks Shane, I was thinking alone the same lines. I am home for spring break this coming week so my friends and I are excited to go out and the river seems to be the only option for now. I will be sure to try all of those things. Thanks and lets hope for warmer weather
Shane I assume you are fishing on a river. Any tips for early spring river fishing because I see you have had some success. Anything will help. I am in Mass so not to far away from you, temperatures and such have probably been about the same. Thanks
I only fish St. Croix. I have a premier for crankbaits and it has served me well for two years now. I also have a avid and legend tournament. All of these rods are high quality, sensitive and look great. The premier is the first St. Croix I got and as you can see I haven't stopped buying them. Great deal for a good rod.
My two friends I fish with. Watching them catch more fish than me always kills me inside because I am very competitive. From there I try to focus this energy on catching more and bigger fish, seems to work sometimes
That would be great considering I don't really know my way around the Burlington area waterways. Obviously you can't just to any spot on the lake and fish from the shore and catch fish. I am really excited to fish this area though
Thanks, don't worry about it I will be exploring the area for many different spots. Hoping to fish down home over break and then bring my stuff back up for some fishing up here. This weather today makes me wanna fish even more!
It all about money these days, cheaper to put lower quality hooks on brands so they do it. Apparently it doesn't stop most people from buying these lures if they are still selling. For me I tend to buy more expensive lures, in the long run they seem to be well worth the extra few dollars.
In Mass and Maine I seem to have success with Misty Minnow and American shad. If have had the most luck with them in earlier spring and late fall fishing. Depending on the water temperature I like a slow to medium retrieve with slight pauses. Usually on the pause the really hit them. But vary up your retrieve speed and style until you find a pattern
Hey guys I was wondering when people starting fishing for bass on Lake Champlain? I am a freshman at UVM and I am just wondering if I should bring my rods up after spring break in two weeks. School gets out early May, so is April a good time to fish the lake. Also it would be great to get out on the lake and fish so if anyone needs a fishing partner let me know. I could split gas and such. Thanks
