  1. Coldthrilla, I had no luck fishing at all. Tried on the points, bays, grass, everywhere I would think they would be and no luck. I even broke out the C-Rig which always catches me at least one fish. I was there last year too, and it was so low it was ridiculus. Sad to say I am starting to think I don't like this lake anymore, it is very beautiful though. Now there was fish caught in the tourney, not a lot except who came in first and they had 17 lbs. Everyone else had maybe one or two fish, no limits. I will be fishing again in my club later this year, give it a chance to redeem its self. Thanks for the reply.
  2. Yeah, Tiki Man Wave Worms are the best. Love the C-rig Greenpumkin/Char. MOLOPO.
  3. I had a run in with them OUT of the water. Was about to launch the boat, and before we could start backing the boat in, a guy with two jet ski's whipped his truck around cut us off and proceeded to back down the ramp. Not even in the water and they are already being rude. We yell at the guy driving the truck and he finally got out of our way, but the guys on the jet ski's we're still trying to get him to back up. SAD. >
  4. At night I always go with a T-rig too. With the weight close to the bait I feel it gives you a better chance the fish will take the bait and not the weight. This is the only thing I know to fish with at night and every time it has worked. In fact my biggest fish (5 1/2lbs) was caught this way at night. Be safe and good luck! ;D
  5. Anyone have any info on Barren River Lake? Will be fishing a tourney this weekend. I've got some good spots, and feel good about the trip. Any advice would be cool though, thanks.
  6. I never see anything about Kentucky fishing. Figured I would see how many Kentucky fishermen and fisherwomen we have. Maybe share some secrets. OK have fun and safe fishin! ;D My lake is Rough River, love that place!
  7. Will be fishing on May 10th & 11th. Does anyone have any advice? I know of a few spots I hit up last year, but had little luck. Will be between the dam and the Moores, it's really the only places I've been. Thanks for any help.
  8. OK I had more problems on this trip than ever before. Still had a good time. Our guys we're catching them mainly in Mud Creek, or at least who won. The two of them caught 70 something pounds of fish. We had one guy catch a 6.66 pounder, scary! I caught my "2" fish on lip less crank close as possible to real looking. The guys who won we're using a C-Rig with a shorter leader and a lighter weight, and some kind of salt water bait that looked like a big minnow. Water was clear and shallower than I was ready for. We had some bad weather that screwed with the fish, but all in all everyone seamed to be catching them in the Mud creek area. I was past the bridge, the guys who won "my Uncle" we're strait across the ramp that's near Mud Creek BBQ. They found them rounding up bait fish and just killed them. Cool weird lake and hope to have some better luck next time. ;D Here is a pic of my two fish, nothing crazy just my "2" fish, ha ha ha. http://a226.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/69/m_83155bf0800fde2defd8a6d2730d0649.jpg
  9. OK the water was way up (9 to 10ft) above summer pool, cold 40's water temp, and kinda dirty water, fishing was slow, caught a 3.79er on a spinnerbait using a dark colors 2nd cast into the water. Never got another hit the rest of the day, tried it all. Won big fish pot, 1st in solo and 2nd in team.
  10. When you go to put on you sunglasses on 8-), and instead of being on your hat their still in the truck :'(!
  11. Fishing Rough River Lake this weekend, anyone got any advice? This is my favorite lake, but with the weird water levels this year I don't really know where the fish are going to be. I am going to my normal spots, but if anyone can lend some wisdom please do. Thanks.
  12. Its getting so close, first tournament on the 15th, then next month BIG-G. Thanks everyone for the replies, man I am ready for some fishin.
  13. Whats going on? This tournament is for points in our club for our year, so I can't miss. If there is something going on close to this date I might be able to do it too.
  14. Thanks for the advice so far guys, I now have a date and a ramp. April 5 & 6, Mud Creek. Now from what I have been told the waves are crazy. Is this true, and if so is there a good place near Mud Creek that's not so bad. My boat (an old Winner) hates waves and so do I.
  15. Any advice, will be fishing in April. Thanks.
  16. On the 14th I fished an 8pm to 8am and at 3:00am caught a 3.4 lb bass- t-rig/wave worm. Won 1st in team, 2nd in individual, and got big fish.
  17. Thanks for all the help, I went with a T-rig with a red/shad wave worm. Caught a 3lb 4oz LM bass. Won 1st in team, 2nd individual, and big fish. Was .06oz from 1st indiviual.
  18. Thanks for the tips I got the Mark Davis game and its ok, but you can only go so far on a lake. I do agree with J_Young about Super Black Bass. That was a darn good game, to tell you the truth I think I still have it and an old SNES. I might have to bring back some old school gaming. ;D
  19. This web page has most tournaments going on in KY. http://www.kdfwr.state.ky.us/tournaments.aspx?wid=66&asid=*&month=*
  20. I just caught a bass the same way as well. The reel I was using could not keep my buzz-bait above the surface without killing myself, I was going to switch to a new lure and bam just about 1ft under water caught 1 of 2 fish for the day. Not a very good day of fishing, but I think it works!
  21. Sounds corny, but if I can't go fishing in real life I would like to in la la land. Anyone have any good ones?
  22. Wow, thanks for all the info. I feel I can come up with a good game plan now. My Uncle and I will be fishing this tournament on 7-14-07 I will post my results, hopefully they will be good.
  23. Fishing in Kentucky, Nolin Lake. No scorpions that I know of, but we do have some copper heads. I don't think they will be much of a problem, plus we will be in a boat.
  24. I have fished a few day tournaments now and I am starting to get the hang of it, but does anyone have any advice for fishing one at night?
