  1. I am looking for a good home town guy here local and not I'm the only game in town so you get what you get. I am really getting p'd off and I think I will pick my boat up tomorrow. I dropped it off on the 11th and they haven't even done so much as touch it yet. I don't think I would be so angry right now if they would have told me up front that it would take this long. I live on the coast so I know the big money is in the offshore boats, but none the less, I shouldn't be treated much different because I have a bass boat. Thanks for hearing me vent.
  2. I was just thinking the same thing. Montoya has hit everything else on the track, he was just going for it all. LOL
  3. After some motor issues that I asked about on here, I decided to take my boat to the only local mech within 30 min. I dropped it off they wrote the ticket up and said that they would call me when it was done. My question is, how long would you guys give a mechanic to diagnose whats wrong. I wasn't told that there would be a holdup when I dropped it off. That being said I understand that in todays economy that many places have cut back on employees to try and make more bucks. How long would you give a place to get back with you before you go pick your stuff up and go elsewhere. I have a buddy who has since told me that he does his own maintenance and troubleshooting and would help me out. I think I have been reasonable/ patient with the establishment and haven't raised heck yet because once again I am not sure how long this should take. I will tell you guys how long its been since I dropped my boat off once I get some replies because I really want to know what everyone thinks is reasonable before I really overreact/get angry. Thanks Jeremyt
  4. I have a 2006 PT 175 TX I love it other than a few minor issues. The rod storage, you can get a 6ft rod in the locker , anything over that you will have to strap to the deck. I wish the battery/gas compartment was a little bigger, for a third battery. I got it for a deal and I can get it into places that my buddies with glass boats can't get. Now the downside is I only run about 40 mph (gauge not gps) and it takes me a little bit longer to get some places than my buddies, but not too much longer. The other plus is that I can fill my 15 gallon tank about 1/2 the times that they do. Basically the Trackers are good boats, as many times as I think about selling and buying a new Phoenix ( my dream boat ) I can't justify it right now with the locations I can get and gas prices. You will find things that you hate about them and other things that you love, but overall I think the good outweighs the bad. If you have any particular questions let me know.
  5. Hope you get to feeling better soon. My wife was at the hospital all day yesterday with out son. He had a 102 fever, severe stomach cramps and everything that goes along with that. They did a CT scan for his appendix and that was negative. They diagnosed him with norovirus, which seems to be going around on an epedemic scale here in NC.
  6. They are made just a few miles from my parents house, I have never been on a lake or pond in one but did test one out at their dealership in the pool. Took some getting used to but I liked it. The motors being recessed makes it easy to get where ever you want to get and they are very stable.
  7. Look just up from the tip of the log, right off the bank you can see the head out of the water and the body just underneath. I am at work right now, or I would edit the photo just like SirSnook did.
  8. I went out this morning and at launch motor was sluggish. It wouldn't push more than 5500rpms . Boat normally registers around 40 on the speedometer, but wouldnt get above 30 today. I am not a motor guy but don't want to pay mechanic prices right now. Any ideas where to start.
  9. Thats an awesome hawg Cliff, and well deserving. I know you have been putting in the work for that fish. Hopefully there are many more of them to come.
  10. Thats just unbelievable, awesome job Shane. I bet that is a memory that will live forever.
  11. My buddy Jason and I met up at my house at 8 and headed to the local power plant lake with his daughter and my son. Get there a little after 9 and launch. Get into the hot ditch and make a few casts. Jason gets a 2 # on a spinner bait. In the mean time his daughter is just racking up on Bream. She caught a total of 24 of them. We keep pushing further up the ditch, under some pipes that we had to lie down to get under and another bridge. We get furhter up to where the power plant has a fence around and start throwing shakey heads. In 4 hours we caught a total of 56 bass. I caught 25, he caught 18 and the rest were spread between his daughter and my son. Nothing was over 2 pounds, but it was absolutely non stop action. You could do no wrong. I think you could have thrown a bare hook and caught fish. It was by far my most memorable trip ever. My 6 yo son was casting out a shakey head and letting the current pick it up and catching fish. I am ready to get back down for some more.
  12. Nice ride FD , I'm jealous. I hope she treats you well.
  13. I have used and been pleased with vicous line. I am one of the vanish haters I spooled it up and had nothing but birds nest after birds nest. I couldn't get it to stay tight on the spool. Not going to totally bash it because it does fine for some people. ^.
  14. Looking for recommendations for a setup for a-rigs and swim baits? What recommendations do you all have?

    Kmart

. I bought 10 shad raps and 5 husky jerks, that was the remainder of those. I know they may not have the best selections but I couldn't believe how cheap these were.

    Kmart

I know not all areas are the same, but I just got husky jerks and shad raps for .80 a piece. Yum dingers about 1$ off and some various live bait hooks for flounder cheap. May be worth your time for a peek.
  17. Is the southern open going to be televised this weekend? Also what happened to the basstrek on Bassmaster site? I noticed that it was up this morning, but now it's gone.
  18. I appreciate all of the input guys, I will try some different things next time out. You have to pick your times there as we have had a really mild winter, they are not running that plant as often. I know the bait was stacked up in there because the water temps were so high. I don't know why I didn't think of a fluke as I had one rigged up in my rod locker. I guess I just got frustrated seeing all the fish and movement, but couldn't hook up, but at the same time I think that it was a good learning experience as what not to do.
  19. My buddy showed up at 10 and we headed to the local power plant lake. Get there and launch, water temp is 63 at the boat dock. Get to the hot ditch and its 75 degrees. Bass busting on baitfish everywhere. I am thinking to myself, holy crap this is going to be awesome. Start fishing the banks with jigs, cranks, and plastics. 1 hour not a bite. Move to the middle of the channel and start throwing spinners, 2 fish in 2 hours. Hmmm, not the day I thought it would be. Get up on the bank to flip and pitch to the bushes. WOW, baitfish everywhere and I mean all over the whole bank from one end to the other. See a bass and flip, bass screams out of there. We finish the rest of the day without another nibble. The whole time there were bass busting all over. \ It seemed like the bass were not even interested in anything because they were mixed in with the baitfish and could just nab one up if they wanted. I was frustrated because we could see the fish busting and cruising all around but couldn't hook up. What could I have done differently.
  20. If engineering is your major and you are staying in NC then I would be looking at NC State or ECU. Good luck.
  21. Very nice fish! I hope the rest of your year goes that well too.
  22. What are you majoring in? That would answer a lot of questions pertaining to where you want to go to school and if they have a bass club or not.
  23. From an old military guy, I think your first priority should be school. See how that goes for a semester before worrying about fishing in a collegiate tournament. You may be very "proficient" at catching fish, but the GI bill would be a horrible thing to waste. Just saying Either way, good luck to you.
  24. I am a Chargers fan, so part of me is smiling. Jackson shouldn't have gotten the can. Are the Raiders going to start going through coaches like they did QB's. If they do they might as well get used to being on the bottom again!
