I use a 6'3" mxf for skipping, fishing grubs and the occasional shakeyhead.
It also makes a nice rod for vertical jigging if you fish for walleye or sauger.
Been offered one at a great price. Very tempted, but what's it happiest doing?
I should note that its RH and I generally fish reaction baits RH and contact baits LH.
thanks
I've handled a few of the R-Types. Nice rods, well-made just a touch heavy.
The Shift's looks like they're introducing a new higher end rod. Hmm, time to call around and see who's got some in stock.
Lake St. Francis (the St. Lawrence River between Cornwall and Montreal) is becoming one of the hottest smallie destinations around in Eastern Canada.
It's getting so that 5 fish bags under 26 lbs finish out of the money.
This weekend a new record was set a 30.35 lb bag with a 7.15 lb lunker was weighed in to win a friendly tournament.
I don't care what anyone says, that's an incredible weight for 5 smallies.
I never used to get sick, so never got one. When my daughter turned one and started daycare my doctor recommended it for all of us. I didn't that first year and have never been so sick in my life. Little children carry the plague!!!
I have gotten it the last two years and have escaped relatively unscathed. I'm now convinced that they work. If my doctor recommends the H1N1 shot, I will be getting that too.

Nah, it stayed a hat and no, I didn't chase it. Nothing more foolish than a man chasin' his hat.

A pair of Revo polarized glasses. Was fishing out of a canoe, got snagged, was looking down into the water and heard sploosh...I had completely forgotten that I was wearing sunglasses.
I always use idiot strings now.
It would help if you told people which models you were looking at. That way people who have those rods could offer you some thoughts.
I love my LTB but I couldn't compare it to my Loomis as I use them for two totally different things (dropshot v. spinnerbaits)
I prefer cross lock snaps instead of a swivel.

They allow for quick, easy changes, and more importantly they don't mess with the action.
If I know I'm only going to be throwing one or two cranks, I'll just tie directly.
Hmmm....Blue reel on a blue rod. Not sure how I feel about that.
I have an Abu Soron on mine and it look's awesome. (Not that I care about that kind of stuff )
