Last year I took my wife to a very nice restaurant for dinner. The waiter suggested Ridge Paso Robles, a red zinfandel. It sells for about $25 a bottle when I can find it, but even at that price it is a steal.
Sometime poster on BR, Marcia Rubin, is tied for second after the first day of the WBT tournament at Red River.
You have to really be a detective to find out about the tournament, though. BASS has the standings hidden so far down on its Web page that they are nearly impossible to find.
I haven't killed a bass in over 20 years. Dad used to say that bass fishing is like basketball. If you kill all the losers today, it's hard to get up a game tomorrow.
I will keep crappies and bluegills.
Oh man, you are in bass fishing heaven. I used to live in Knoxville, but I didn't look good in orange so I had to leave. I still get a little misty when I hear Rocky Top.
I figure SWMBO owes me one. I went to see No Reservations with her a couple of weeks ago; maybe I can get her to see this one with me. I'm a big Jody Foster fan.
Twelve foot Delhi jon boat that I turned into a great small water bass boat. I caught the best fish of my life out of that little boat. I recently sold it to a seventeen year old kid in the neighborhood who is using the daylights out of it.
I never go to the K-Mart here in Tallahassee, but yesterday I found myself in that neighborhood on the way home. I recalled someone posting that they had reduced the price on their Kinami Flash baits so I went in to check it out.
The price posted still said $4.79, but I pulled off a package and took it to one of the scanners located around the store. The price came up as 50 cents. They had about 20 packs of 5" baits left and I bought them all.
This is what is referred to in another forum as a drive by gloat.
Down here in Florida pickerel are commonly referred to as jackfish or jacks. They love to hang out in the lily pads and absolutely explode on a Zoom Horny Toad.
Lemme tell you a St. John's story. About 25 years ago I was working in a store in Louisville, Kentucky talking with a friend about college basketball. I commented that I hated how the press would rank northeastern teams like St. John's so high in the preseason for no apparent reason.
A very large man grabbed me from behind and advised me in no uncertain terms that he had graduated from St. John's and that they had won more post season games... blah, blah blah. I figure there had to be no more than two or three St. John's grads in all of Louisville and I had to open my big mouth in front of one of it most rabid basketball fans.
Did you notice how they kept misspelling his name on the graphic when they were talking to him during the game. I kept wondering who this Billy Gillipsie was.
Westpalmdude: I love the new avatar.
They aren't? I remember my Dad opening a can and rinsing off that gelatin stuff they came packed in in the lake. He would then dump them out on the board seat of his old Starcraft, slice them in half with his filet knife and put them between a couple of crackers. I learned real early to pack my own lunch.
My, my! This humble pie sure is tasty.
I sure am glad I fell asleep in the chair when Louisville was still ahead and didn't have to watch the rest of it. At least my local team, the Florida State Seminoles, won.
Congrats to the Cats, Deb, and Westpalmdude.

Since I've switched to low profile reels, all my reels are high speed - for all applications. I can't see any disadvantages, only advantages.
I am happy to see that Louisville fans have something to be happy about. I guess I would look for a different (if lesser) sport if I had realized my team would always play second fiddle. But two titles is nice. Probably even cute. Yes, cute. That's it. Louisville has a cute basketball program.
The way Louisville has played in their first two games I'm not as sure about them beating Kentucky tomorrow. Even my die-hard Louisville fan brother-in-law picked Kentucky in our football pool this week. I'm still going to wear my Louisville shirt to Tampa tomorrow, though.
I grew up in Louisville reading Joe's columns in the Courier Journal. I have a copy of his book, Joe Creason's Kentucky that he gave me for Christmas in 1972.
Carl Edwards is my favorite. If Junior drove a Ford he would be my favorite driver. He is a good connection to NASCAR's roots. I have liked Kasey Kahne ever since his rookie year when Tony Stewart tried to push him around and he wouldn't back down.
I can't stand Tony Stewart's whining and blaming everyone else for his mistakes when he makes them. I don't see how Robbie Gordon gets anyone to sponsor him. He is the biggest jerk I have ever seen in a race car.
I'm going to put my Nomex suit on before I type this: I was never a Dale Sr. fan. To me, he was just a dirty driver. The Intimidator should have been called The Bully.
You're killing me, Bud. :'( It will be at least a week before I get to go fishing again.
By the way, isn't Benton, KY the only town where Joe Creason was born?
