  1. Well, catching bass at Bienville is not really fishing. It's like going on a canned hunt. Reminds me of all those Bill Dance shows where he's fishing in phosphate pits that are not open to the public and normal fishing pressure. If a fishing show host is unwilling to fish public waters I am not interested in watching.
  2. I suggested to her that she needs three things to get rid of the problem: One twelve year old boy, one day, and one of those Benjamin you-gotta-pump-it-up pellet guns. No more problem. I figure she could just throw the carcasses in the lake where the gators, catfish, and turtles would eat them. But you know how wimmen are. She accused me of problem solving rather than listening to her problem and empathising with her. :
  3. I'm going to have to find a picture of my boss. She is definitely NOT an old biddy.
  4. I'm pretty sure that paintball gun stings like a son of a gun too, but it hasn't discouraged them.
  5. I had to take a trip yesterday with my new boss. Nice lady. I found that she lives on Lake Monkey Business where I do a lot of fishing. I was telling her about all the black vultures I saw roosted on a house on the lake this past Sunday afternoon. "That was my house!" she screamed, "They have been roosting on my roof for a couple of months. They have detroyed the cushions on my deck furniture. I get up every morning and shoot them with a paintball gun but they keep coming back." Anyone have any ideas on how to keep them from roosting on a house?
  6. I just wonder how much a trailer hitch for that Zonda would cost.
  7. It will look good next to your Donald Rumsfeld action figure:
  8. How long before Redlinerobert has one in the driveway?
  9. You have probably heard the expression, "It goes without saying..." My wife hasn't.
  10. Most of my frog fishing is done in lily pads or on top of hydrilla so I need the extra backbone of a flipping stick. I have been really surprised at how good my hook-up rate is with Zoom Horny Toads.
  11. I just loaded some Trilene on my new Plueger Trion 5.2:1 reel yesterday. I bought this reel for fishing deep-diving crankbaits and large spinnerbaits. It is fabulous. It casts at least as well as my Revo SC and I really like having the torque that is lacking in high speed reels to retrieve baits that have a lot of resistance. I will probably buy another once the Christmas money comes in. The Revo SC is a 7:1 retrieve ratio and I find its application fairly limited. I use 6.3:1 reels to fish lipless crankbaits.
  12. +1 on the Pflueger Trion. I just bought the 5.2:1 version for spinnerbaits and crankbaits and will buy another as soon as the Christmas money comes in. I like it a lot more than my Revo SC.
  13. I learned the most basic information about fishing from Jack Dolson, our next door neighbor. It wasn't until Jerry McKinnis started a show called the Falls City Fisherman that I really learned to bass fish. That was in the late 60s.
  14. Target is not French. It is the offspring of the old Detroit based Dayton-Hudson company. My experience with Target here in Tallahassee is that they will advertise a product at a good price. They won't have the product. They will give you a rain check but will never get the item in stock. I don't know how they get away with it, but I won't shop at Target if I can avoid it.
  15. ???? Too heavy???? Holy cow man! Makes me wonder how we possibly fished all day with those old red Ambassadeur 5000s and fiberglass rods.
  16. Woodworking (including turning), bicycling, and grandchildren.
  17. I've been taking Ginko . I trying to remember what sex was like.
  18. All that plus you help keep LBH in a job delivering all those packages.
  19. Why would you miss fish with a flipping stick?
  20. Unless you have money to burn, don't waste money on an expensive rod to fish a frog. It's not like you need something sensitive to detect a strike. I use a flipping stick with an old Ambassadeur 5000C spooled with 40# PowerPro.
  21. You get up an extra hour early and drink lots of coffee in hopes that you will take a dump before getting out on the lake.
  22. I wonder if they will have any left the day after Thanksgiving.
  23. What size hook are you using?
  24. I'm not quite sure what to think about stores being open on Thanksgiving Day. I was just looking at the Black Friday ads at http://bfads.net/adscans and see that Bass Pro Shops will be open at 8 a.m. Thursday. I spent a long time in retail and am really glad that I never worked for anyone who did this to me.
  25. Now folks, you got to keep in mind that we Floridians freeze to death at room temperature.
