  1. Say what!!?? SS, how much had you drunk before you typed that? :
  2. Jerry was a great storyteller. He was a successful songwriter and studio musician long before he ever got a chance to be a performer in his own right. He wrote a song called the Tupelo Mississippi Flash and submitted a demo tape. The studio wanted someone other than Jerry to record it, but noone else could figure out how to play it. Jerry told how he "boogered up the tuning" so it would be nearly impossible for anyone else to figure it out. He got to record it.
  3. Ryan, Just dance with the girl that brung ya and you will do just fine. Dick (conjuring up the spirit of Tom Mann) Durbin Tallahassee
  4. Kinda makes you wonder why city folks spend good money on Broadway shows, operas, and the symphony when they could have homemade fun like this. :
  5. I didn't even try to go out this morning because the weather map showed that it was going to rain on us all day. About noon I decided the weatherman had missed it, so I took off to a small lake close to my house. The wind was really howling and I had a lot of trouble fishing, but this 9.4 pound girl sucked up my white 3/8 ounce spinnerbait. This is now the largest bass I have ever caught (and released.)
  6. My wife has a Tom Tom that is pretty nice except that you can't hear the audio instructions very well.

  8. I think it's called a Power Pin pedestal. I also got the stainless steel base. It has a nylon sleeve that can be replaced to keep a snug fit.
  9. I'm going to wear my University of Louisville shirt just to antagonize Tallydude.
  10. Don't do like a local fellow did and use a black lining. The boat got so hot he couldn't use it.
  11. Well, we have Gustav coming our way now. I am really interested to see if Lake Lanier gets any water out of all this.
  12. I'm note sure, but I think that's a felony in Tennessee.
  13. We haven't had all that much wind here in Tallahassee, but my yard is full of small branches from the pine trees. A lineman from our electric company, Talquin Electric Co-op, was killed by a falling tree yesterday. I get pretty upset with customers who call us at the Public Service Commission while a storm is still going on complaining that their power is out. I don't hesitate to tell them that we don't expect a lineman to climb a pole and risk his life so they don't have to miss Wheel of Fortune.
  14. I recently bought a SwivelEze stand up pedestal and had to change the base to a SwivelEze to stop the looseness. Is the base you bought the same brand as the pedestal?
  15. Here I am in my Tilley hat:
  16. The tongue weight is no more than about 75 pounds. My 1999 Mazda truck with regular suspension handles it just fine so I have no doubt that the new Ranger can handle it.
  17. I was supposed to drive to New Port Richey tomorrow for a hearing, but the bosses decided they didn't want us driving in the storm so they postponed it. Looks like fishing will be out this weekend, but I will be glad to see the water in many of our low lakes.
  18. Down here in the Deep South we stay indoors in the summer, not the winter. It's too blazing hot to go outside so we sit around eating pork rinds and posting to BR.
  19. I have a four cylinder now and need need more power. I'm going to get a six. I am just trying to determine if the 3.0 liter six is enough. This will be my daily driver and most of my driving is in town, so gas mileage will be a concern otherwise the 4.0 would be a no-brainer.
  20. I remember my next door neighbor in Louisville telling me that he had gone with the Boy Scouts to Bernheim Forest where they went up in the far tar. After asking him to repeat it several times I finally asked him to write down what he was trying to tell me. They had gone up in the fire tower. The funny thing about it is that I had just moved to Louisville from Sunfish, Kentucky (you can look it up) and I thought I talked country.
  21. not gonna touch that one!!!!!! LOL b This is what I mean by high and tight:
  22. It was all over the papers and the Internet.
  23. Yeah, but what was his horse's name? What was Roy Rogers' horse's name and his dog's name? Dale Evans' horse? Robert E. Lee's horse? 1. Silver 2. Trigger; Bullet 3. Buttermilk 4. Traveler And the Red Skelton Hobo wasn't Clem Kadidlehopper, the Hobo was Freddie the Freeloader, Clem was a different character. Give that man a cheroot. Now for the bonus round: What was Gene Autry's horse's name and what was Sky King's airplane's name?
  24. It was also used on Dragnet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8G1gPmnRn0
