  1. repaint's done, looks just as good as the original
  2. thanks. but its no biggie. just more practice, and lessons learned! i'm currently repainting it. waiting on the metallic silver to dry as i type this.
  3. Awesome movie YES
  4. i just got firefox yesterday, and i'm noticing today that i can't search anything on wikipedia! i can get on www.wikipedia.org just fine, but when i type something in to search, i get the error page "server not be found" whaddup with this? :-?
  5. baby bass = sweet
  6. screwed up a good paintjob that i was really liking.... lessons learned: prime (i even had the primer, too lazy to put it on such a small bait) wait longer before taping live and learn (oh well, i get to sand this off and re-do it; more practice )
  7. finished pics:
  8. who's stopping you? and yes, it is a great hobby :) nice paint Jon.
  9. i pm'd him about it, and it turns out this is just an electronic pool toy (swims on its own) that he has retrofitted with hardware to make it into a lure. still cool tho
  10. pretty simple little pattern here, but i like it i was trying out my freehand skills with the lateral line. all i have to say is that its a good thing i cleared the body colors before painting the details, because i wiped it clean to start over several times no final clear coats yet, better pics to come.
  11. this one may require a combination of smilies... :
  12. Cheez-Its topped with creamy peanutbutter and a cold glass of milk.
  13. no way man the derivative of 3x-2 is WAY to easy. for a simple function like that all you have to do is take the power of x in each term and bring it out front to multiply by the coefficient, and then subtract 1 from the power. (1)3x1-1-2 so the term 3x is to the power of 1, so multiply 1 by three, coefficient is still 3, subtract 1 from 1, zero, x drops. since 2 doesn't have an x it also drops. leaving you with 3. you could have made tha tharder! ;D
  14. well guys Bernie is not able to send the lure till December when he graduates, so im gonna pass on it this time and get it in the spring. someone from the South get it from Bernie!
  15. i've had a few DT's that sink. and some that float like corks. weird i know. still love the baits though. take the split ring off the bill if you haven't already and see how much this helps. sometimes this is just enough to make the sinking baits slowly float. also heed to Muddy's advice ;D
  16. thanks! i like the baits (really i only like the bottom one) but they could be way better! good paintjobs will come in time i guess i've been using this clear off a recomendation from two people who have been using it for a long time without any problems, and idlov2fish is the first person to post about issues with it, so i guess i'll just have to see for myself then! ;D
  17. here is a video of it he sent me in an email. he may have sent all you the same email, i'm not sure.
  18. able2disable1 sent me a PM saying it was 2 piece and that he is trying to upload a video but didn't know how. now that i look closer at the pics, it is indeed a two piece, look just behind the soft dorsal fin and you can see the joint. its a door-hinge style joint, like what 3:16 uses. very nice looking bait man!!!
  19. this was posted a while ago, i think sometime last year. i think it was posted in the same post as the infamous 7-legged spider. i don't remember clearly but the guy was charged for something and he sent a drawing of a 7-legged spider valued at the amount he owed. haha. i think in the end he may have sent them that check as payment. i'm not sure if the spider and check are related though, i just remember them being posted at or around the same time. and yeah gman, i'd like to see their response!
  20. arby's plummited on my list of best fast-food restaurants (was in slot number one) when they did away with their regular fries. i don't know if this was a nation-wide thing or not, but our local arby's only offers curly frieds now. YUCK! and you guys are right they are expensive. Wendy's now holds #1 on my list.
  21. idlov2fish, which target coatings product were you using? and how long did you wait after coating to fish that lure? i've found with the superclear 9000 that it takes a good 5+ days to reach full hardness. i still haven't caught many fish using this topcoat so i can't really attest to its durability yet.
  22. my first repaints with my new airbrush. lots of room for improvement. i wish both of these didnt come out as dark. i think next time i will use a white primer instead of black. i used black on thse because i thought the metallic silver base color would show up better on black. i also have to work on getting consistent with using a comb as a stencil (second lure). the stripes came out dark and defined on one side and pale on the other. anyway here are the pics. top lure is first attempt at a bluegill (tape stripes). i sprayed the colors way too thick and they're kind of overpowering of the more subtle colors. bottom lure is my second attempt which i like a lot better, wish it wasn't as dark though. i also need to work on gills. these look pretty sloppy.
  23. is it a one piece? what kind of action does it have? nice job.
  24. yup this is what i was gonna say
