  1. yea i think the SS stands for slinkier and squirmier. at least thats what it describes the bait as in the article for it. i never thought of using a shakey head. i'll have to try that...ive never shakey headed before....should be fun! thanks everyone.
  2. ok. well i coulda figured that out myself. i was looking for any special, "unique" tips lol. but step 5 is helpful
  3. well i just answered one of my questions. i was just on lunkers city's webpage (call me stupid but i didnt know that lunker city made sluggos!). i found out that they are sluggo ss. im gonna go read about them now. i'll still take any tips you have to offer though ;D
  4. didnt want to thread jack the other sluggo topic, so i made my own. i have a pack of sluggos that my grandpa gave me when i was little. anyway, they are about 7.5inches long, but they are very very skinny! based on all the pics ive seen, sluggos are generally shad/fluke shaped. as in they tail is fat and tapers quick. well these look more like worms than any baitfish i've ever seen. they are very long, skinny, and have a slow taper. so, are there different types of sluggos? how can i use my sluggos? like a worm, a baitfish? thanks for any help.
  5. PLEASE DO!!!! I HAVE A PACK OF GLASS SHADS FROM WALMRAT FROM A LONG TIME AGO! THEY LOOK AWESOME!!!
  6. wow! glad i dont live in Japan!!!
  7. no problem dude! this whole site is for learnering and sharing! we shared, you learned!!!!!!
  8. i can vouch for that as being the worst feeling ever. i once threw a super bouncy ball at a cynder block wall and it came flying back at twice the velocity as when it left my hand and hit me right in the male parts. couldnt get out of bed the next morning. :-/ :-[ BUT i'd say the worst fishing feeling would be casting your brand new lucky craft and on the first cast having it land on a dock and bust. or for that matter, having brand new anything and having it break its first use. dont feel so bad you dont have a rod for it, the time will come, be grateful nothings broken!
  9. anyone used these? they look super freaking sweet. theyre like the normal crawbugs (very realistic) only they come pre rigged with a weight in the tail and a stout snag guard, and a good hook. i bought a pack in crawdad color and in the 3something inch size. cant wait to try them. i dont ususally fish jigs/craws, but i'd like to start cuz i think it'd be effective. any tips on how to use these??? thanks!
  10. yeah i was just gonna say, that sounds like a baitclicker. you flip it on, and it sets it so that the spool will rotate if line is pulled off with a light tension. its for live baitfishing, so you can sit the rod down and do other stuff. when a fish takes off w/ the bait, that thing starts clicking, you flip it off, and begin the fight!
  11. storm kickin minnow/slab are some swimbaits. havent tried them. but they arent like the other storm cranks. they have a lip so they have a good action (i see vids) im gonna order one of each to test them.
  12. if you dont mind saving 100-80 bucks you could get the citica (100 at delo's, 120 everywhere else). thats a great reel which is practically the same as the older curados.
  13. oh ok, i thought it was a rapala. well still...im sure they cost about the same! who needs expensive baits to catch nice fish!
  14. ive got a black and blue one, and a red and white one. i havent tried either at night, but i think it would do well, since it gives off so much vibration.
  15. yea thats made by bomber, i forget the model but its supposed to imitate a crawfish...that color doesnt do such a good job at it though :
  16. i tried so hard to get a picture of the mann's ghost, but i couldnt even find a picture!
  17. i gotta say... good job! the middle one looks natural! the other too...not so much...but you did your best, because of the not real cork...that screwed u over. anyway, they look good. how come on teh middle one, the exposed blank looks like its got residue of some kind on it? u should try to remove that if you can.
  18. holy crap i wish i remembered the thread that was on this topic!!!!!! cuz its just like what you were talking about!!!!!
  19. these two are BY FAR the strangest two ive seen:
  20. i know exactly the lure you're talking about. there was a similar post, but i just cant remember where or what the lure is. i'll try to find it.
  21. yes i can cast the slab. but my question was about the BAIT not a rod
  22. yeah i seen that one, it was pretty funny!!!!! i also have seen the magazine ads when some beefy dude is there and he bent the rod so the tip touches the butt, i wonder if thast possible, or if they made a special rod to do that.
  23. hey guys, im gonna get a storm kickin slab in bluegill color and a kickin minnow in gizzard shad color. ive seen the video of these baits and they look awesome. the minnow has alot of tail action. the slab looks very real. what do you guys think of these baits?
  24. yeah i was gonna say, the Rago Trout TOOL is like 300 bucks. i dont know who would pay 300 dollars just to catch a fish, and you may not even catch any or many on those kinds of lures. sure the FEW you may catch will be huge, but heck, the world record bass (22lb 4oz) was caught on a plain ole' floating rapala, if im not mistaken.
  25. shimano citica 200D for $100 at delo's with free shipping. (normally $120, but delos has low prices)
