  1. xf action is not good for any trebels... xf action is good for plastics, jigs, shakey head, dropshot, maybe spinnerbait, frogs, pretty much any single hook bait where alot of backbone is needed.
  2. i love bandits. they are cheap and very effective. i like (in order) rapala, bandits, bomber. those are really the only 3 brands that i have alot of experience w/. i have a manns baby 1minus and it seems kinda cheesy. it doesnt seem well built..hooks were very dull, and there are big rough seems all over it. also, i dont like how wide of a wobble it has and how fat the lure is. i would take a foot loose over a 1minus anyday. swimbaits seem fun. i dont have any swimbait gear, and i only have one swimbait and it is a cheapy. ive only fished it once for like 10 minutes just to see how it performs. i found that to get any action it has to be retrieved kinda fast. i still like it. i will fish it in the spring for the spawn. here is a pic of it. its called a storm kickin slab:
  3. this is how i fish it: the first is to cast it out, reel it down, then start twitching/jerking it around. then leave a long pause, then do it again...and occasionally reel it straight for a few feet. another is to cast it, jerk it hard, and keep doing this. this will get the most erratic action out of it, and is probably the most popular way to fish it. the last method is to just reel it straight back like a crankbait. this usually isnt very productive. here are some rapala links on how to fish it: http://www.rapala.com/products/howto/fish/index.cfm?lurename=x-rap&freshorsalt=Fresh http://www.rapala.com/pdfs/instructions/x-rap.pdf
  4. thanks for the input guys. i was lookin at river2sea's kong...it looks great in the water (vid). they also have a v-joint min wake which is just like the king kong only smalller and i plan on buying one of those if i dont get one for xmas. why do they work better over deep structure? i would think they work good in shallo structure where the bass can see it more... does it work better in clear water? cuz the water wher i fish is heavily stained, and i think bass might have a hard time seeing it if they are that deep...but then again the deepest my lakes might go is 20-30 feet.
  5. past tense? why dont you like it anymore?
  6. this is a serious question.....are the bass in powerplant lakes every mutated at all?
  7. i learned today that powerplant lakes (lakes made to cool powerplants) are usualy very warm all year round, hot in the summer. fish in powerplant lakes spawn in january.
  8. i think the browns uniforms are pretty ugly.
  9. actually, him and sabbath were the best, if i had to pick him solo, he's best w/ zak wylde.
  10. also, alot of people are saying that falcon lowrider xg's are great for the money.
  11. didnt think so....then who else voted for solo?
  12. can you vote for both?
  13. i agree....tin2win doesnt....weirdo ;D
  14. which is better!???? ;D
  15. how are the strike king king kong swimbaits? are they worth the 30 bucks? they look kinda cheesy and ive heard bad things about strike king cranks. thanks for the input.
  16. a thin coat of clear nailpolish will get rid of tooth scratches on your hardbaits.
  17. to prevent trebble hooks on crankbaits from tangling on each other/the line, take a small o-ring and take the hook off, slide the o-ring on the shank, put the hook back on, slide the o-ring up so it covers the split ring...this will prevent the hooks from swinging around so easily and tanglinng.
  18. remove the rear trebble of any crankbait and add on a small spinnerbait blade for some flash.
  19. i think its just a kit in a monkey suit...def. doesnt look like a bear...they dont have tht long and skinny of limbs.
  20. GWOSS!!!!
  21. i heard hay bales work good for somereason. also, plastic lawn chairs, cynder blocks, pallets, and of course, the classic, xmas tree.
  22. lets see, when i was looking for a rod in taht price range, my top choices were team daiwa light and tough team allstar im-10 graphite shimano clarus shimano compre
  23. hooka brotha up homie! 8-)
  24. get a topwater popper and remove the rear trebble. tie about 2 feet of line and a hook at the end. wacky rig a senko and work the popper like normal. either the popping action will trigger a strike, or it will get the bass' attention and then the wacky worm scootin' by behid it will trigger them.
  25. custom baits w/ woodburning tool: get a woodburning tool (8 bucks at walmart...might as well get some wood too and try your hand at artwork...its pretty) and a bunch of torn up plastics. you can mend plastics together by melting the two surfaces and sticking em together, then once it cools, melt the seams closed. an example of what you can do is make a lizard by adding 4 tiny curly tail grubs to a ribbon tail worm like legs. also (ive done this) melt together multiple worm bodies and one tail at the end for a long worm for big bass.
