  1. i know! i was suprised too! specially with how light her drag was.
  2. haha! my dad is the same way...half the time his drag slips on the freaking hookset!
  3. check out these three crazy ladies pull in this monster bass: takes her almost 3 minutes to get the dang thing in! of course, her drag is set so light its no wonder : listen closely to the end...she says "thats 20lbs easy...maybe 25" lol i dont think so. i was just glad they released it in the end...looked like she was gonna keep it.
  4. i saw one meteor last night. and then i saw a UFO....it looked like a meteor, but it looked like a firework...it was bright green like a firework, but it never exploded or made noise, and it was short lived like a meteor. ps... i saw both of these around nine o'clock while on an ATV ride. i never even knew there was going to be a meteor shower.
  5. great job dude! that sure is a big ole fish. im gussing around 6.5lbs.
  6. hah!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D thats good! thanks for posting ;D
  7. what will happen on Dec. 21, 2012? lets see...i'll wake up, probably eat something for breakfast, go to class, learn some stuff, come home, homework, browse the web, eat stuff...and sleep. nothin new. just like they said everything would shut down when year 2000 rolled around....NOT!
  8. i noticed that my citica has a very minute amount of back play. nothin to bother me about...i catch fish on it just fine. now i have an old abu garcia ambassaduer 5500C and that thing has nearly 1/4 rotation of backplay!
  9. i flyfish for bass occasionally, but i tie bass flies alot (aint that weird? i tie them and dont even use em) but i have an 8foot 6wt and its perfect for bass...provides for a nice fight...specially with 2-3 pound fish! the rod i have is some cheapy flooger rod and the reel is a reddington red fly. since i dont fly fish much, its suits me well
  10. whats special about sexy shad? i was lookin at strike king red eyes, and the sexy shad color looks retarded on them. it looks good on the pro model cranks though. i also noticed that it was only in stock on the red eyes (basspro).
  11. was just checkin out those novelty fishin lures and this one looks like it will actually work! http://www.luresandstuff.com/catalog/item/381057/101228.htm
  12. countless bluegills and golden shiners on canned corn (makes excellent bait...a whole can will last you many outings) Ive also caught unbelevable amounts of bluegills and golden shiner on bread and this homemade dough i made. and i catch golden shiners and bluegills on simple chuncks of white rubber from torn up plastics (they think its bread, so they just demolish it)
  13. thats cool! like to see other people havin a good time
  14. tee hee hee....piglet ;D nice job paul and mike! i might just have to bust out the ole strike king bitsy bug come spring
  15. wow dont i feel like an oddball...me n my dad use 7" YUM dingers w/ 2/0 gammy ewg's lol! what we do is a little trick...when youre threading the worm on the hook to texas rig it, you usually thread it on a quarter inch or so then come out, turn it around, and pierce it again......well.......thread the hook about halfway down the entire worm, ten come out and proceed like normal. that way you are able to use a lighter hook and still have the hook in the midle of the bait for better hook ups.
  16. bluegills target the smaller stuff...mayflies, ants, beetles, juvinile hoppers, damsel flies. bass get the big stuff...dragonflies, locusts, adult hoppers. their favorite summertime topwater snak is a dragonfly...thats coming from a fly fisherman
  17. heres a nice little (2.5 to 3 inches roughly) bluegill lure: hand tied by yours truly put this sucker on a small dropshot rig. then move the weight to the edge of the bed on taught line......ease the rod tip down so the bluegill slowly goes nose first into the bed....the bass is eye'n it now...twitch it....pull it out of the bed and repeat. bass should smack this bait.
  18. ive got a unique one: i caught a bluegill on a LOOGI!!! i hacked a loogi on the hook and plopped it in the water and about fifty million bluegills came and 3 of em tried to swipe it. one got hooked pretty gross huh? those bluegills are like the pirahanna watch guards of the community park.....anything enters the water a minimum of 10 come to investigate.
  19. wow just the spool costs 200 dollars. that is one expensive reel!
  20. well its just like any other swimbait...its got dual trebel hooks, so if you fish it in heavy cover then you best be careful. as for murky water, if you are fishing it where the fish are, then it shouldnt be a problem. its got double body joints so it will make quite a bit of commotion.
  21. get your self a pack of 7" "blue Fleck" berkley power worms, and a pack of 4" "june bug" YUM dingers and a pack of 2/0 gamakatsu offset EWG hooks and your set!
  22. a floating rapala is a nice twitch bait...lip included ;D at the moment, nothing comes to mind.....but i know i must have done something pretty stupid to a lure. wait i got one...i had a strike king crankbait and the d**n thing wouldnt run straight to save its life. well i tried tuning it so much taht the little eye piece broke off. lol.
  23. river2sea's v-joint minnow has that shape to it.
  24. i dont like mine. tough has hell....i abuse it very much...but it lacks backbone (amount of stiffness...need it to set the hook good) and it also lacks very much in sensitivity. that whole clear tip design is phoney, it doesnt add anything for sensativity. not a good rod to buy. if youre looking for a rod in that pricerange, go with the berkley lightnin rod. alot more backbone, and a noticible amount of sensativity (i like my lightnin rod)
  25. looks like yall had a great day. that is a massive perch! good job guys!
