  1. jigs (caught two)--fish jigs ALL THE TIME, only caught two dinks in a stocked farm pond. spinnerbaits (caught one)--fish em often, not as much as jigs or worms or crakns. lipless cranks (caught none)--dont fish em very much at all, but never had anything on em.
  2. we're good
  3. lightweight! no i was at that same BPS and i ended up with at grand total of $80. i got some pretty cool stuff.
  4. night fishing is awesome! ive caught some real nice ones. only things i dont like is that you cant see your fish when you catch em unless you use lights and i dont like to use lights. also, the pictures come out pretty nasty (for me at least) how do you take good night pictures? thanks man!
  5. oh and if you do chum, dont over chum, cuz they they wont want to take your bait, they will just eat the chum. i catch shiners and bluegill all the time at my local park so i have some good experience at it
  6. i developed my own secret recepie to make some dough for bluegills and shiners at the park. they demolished it. what i did was i took an empty butter tub and put in some flour (add enough flour to make enough for how much you wanna use) then i added a good deal of garlic powder to it and mix it up real nice. then (here comes the secret) add enough vegetable oil to make it into a nice dough consistency. use vegetable oil because it will prevent the dough from going all soggy on you and falling off the hook. oil is water resistant so it keeps its shape and stays on the hook! have fun with it and let us know how it goes.
  7. caught this 9" shiner while fishing a creame colored chunk of a plastic worm on a size 12 hook on UL tackle (messing around with the bluegills on the shoreline at the park)
  8. mmmm i might have to disagree with that ;D on a slow day its usually the fishing that people dont like and they are thrilled with the catching
  9. exactly
  10. yeah i was thinking of doing that exact thing! so that way it looks like the bluegill is eating the eggs. wouldnt the bait lay on its side when it rests in the bed though? bass probably wouldnt care...theyre all hormonal and what not ;D ;D
  11. pads i fish are pretty thick: i dont know. it all depends on how much money i can get out of my sister (she's paying, im taking her biology course). hopefully i can get her to give me $50 so she doesnt have to pay for shipping too ;D
  12. im not trying to support the company or pressure you or anything, but they are only like 3 or 4 dollars for a 3 pack. i think they are worth just trying, who knows, maybe they will slay the stripers and you'll have the best lure, or they could suck horribly and your in the hole 4 dollars, which isnt that much of a set back. just something to think about. :-/
  13. nothin wrong with stickin to what works ;D
  14. lmao!!!
  15. this bait (in "black shad" color) looks like it would be just awesome to fish over bass beds in the spring or along open shoreline in the summer! i think im gonna get one. what do you guys think? http://www.***.com/descpageBAGHARD-BBF.html#
  16. never fished em but i got a few in a freebie pack from *** and i plan on using them with a parasite bullet weight and just fishing em like a worm/jig.
  17. they have em in 6 5/16" size. http://www.***.com/descpageSWIMRIVER-R2SVM.html only difference is this one dives, its not a wake bait like the smaller ones. ;D but i was thinking the same thign about the lipless/lipped. cuz i was thinking if i was fishing over mats of crap them the lip would just cause resitance and take away from the action. and i dont think that i would throw the frog in open water much. maybe i'll go with lipless.
  18. i go thru slumps so much its not even funny. it all really depends on the situation. if im fishing with my dad i usually just stop concentrating so hard on fishing and have a fun time with him and laugh alot. if im at the park, i'll usually just grab and ultralite and mess with the bluegills for a good while and then shoot for bass again. if im at the farm, then the case is most likely ive fished out the pond (very small pond) so i'll go to the other pond which is always more aggressive, and fish that one for a good while, then i'll go back to the first one and it will have recovered and the fishing will be better. if nothing is working, a F-11 seems to squeak out a few fish everytime. and generally, no matter where i am, i will just chill and fish as slow as possible, i'll find a place to sit, and i'll just dead stick a trick stick or crawl a 7-10 inch ribbon tail worm back. this gives me time to think, and it is often quite productive. just a few of my strategies. probably the one that works the best is just to chill out and stop trying so hard and just have fun and laugh. cuz even though the fishing sucks at least im having a good time! ;D
  19. its a real low quality pic but i'd have to say its real. doesnt look like anything too enormously huge, but it is no doubt a huge fish!
  20. well my dads friend (the one who's brother-in-law is pictured on the first post) just got back from a charterboat trip near virginia beach and 6 people each caught 2 stripers each, every single one was over 40" !!!! they had to buy extra coolers to bring the filets home!!!! ;D
  21. ok i gotcha. so youre saying you dont think something that looks like a craw will do better than something that looks like something that looks like a craw will. lol. if you can understand that then you get a gold star! lol. ;D
  22. or i could go with getting another one of these instead of a frog.
  23. lol i wish! ....no just one
  24. which would be a better frog to get? im sure they each have their different applications, but which do you think would be a better one? river2sea bully wa or river2sea crawlin' croaker? thanks guys!
  25. i fish with quality baits at a great price. i fish rapalas, bomber, and bandits
