  1. im not sure if this is the right place to put it but if its not then it will be moved i guess. tuesday i will be getting contact lenses and then i figured i'd go over to walmart and use that $20 walmart card i got for christmas. well since i dont have any sunglasses i figured i'd need some since i will have contacts. what are a good pair i could get for $20 or a little (up to 15) more? thanks for the help guys, i know VERY little about sunglasses.
  2. wow what a great fish! nice job man! i wish i could be in the boat with you. im so anxious for spring its not even funny. i got a crankbait combo for xmas and cranks are my fav. thing to fish and i cant wait to use it!!!!
  3. sunday feb. 17 at 9pm on the discoverey channel. they are doing just like in the jurassic park film. they are getting some dna out of a bee and theyre gonna make dinosaurs out of it. should be interesting. i plan on watching it. just a heads up.
  4. lol guys. i was feelin real bad with a fever yesterday and i came home and slept for like 5hrs so i was up all night cuz i couldnt fall back asleep. so my mom let me stay home today.
  5. thats true, but i dont think matching the hatch is BS. i think that it is beneficial a lot of the times. a really good bluegill crankbait is rapala DT-4 in bluegill. it has a good shape of a bluegill and the colors are very realistic. you might also try mattlures bluegill swimbaits, but they dont fall into your category of cranks and jerkbaits.
  6. i have two podcasts on my ipod, bass feed and bass edge, i havent updated them in a long time but i find them pretty boring. i'd rather listen to my music than a podcast.
  7. maybe a different chemical composition in the plastic?
  8. i got two packs of the 4.5" lake fork tackle live magic shads from cabelas and they look and feel awesome. i havent tried them yet, but when i do i plan on fishing them weightless and either swimming them (to get a swimbait action) or fishing them like a soft jerkbait. if the weightless thing doesnt work out, i'll use weighed hooks.
  9. i agree with everything that everyone has said. another factor that i consider is depth. the farther down your lure is the less light penetration (darker water) there is. it might be a pretty clear lake, but at the bottom of deep water there probably isnt much visibility. so when i fish deep water i use dark colors with sparkles to reflect any light for added visibility. the darker the color the stronger the silouette, and the easier it is to see. my favorite color for deep water is junebug, its very dark color, and its loaded with sparkles to reflect any light. the shallower your lure is the more visibility there will be. when i fish shallow (usually fish shallow with a crank) i will use shad colors. i am very productive with shad colored cranks in 3-6 foot of water. if im using soft plastics in shallow water, i will usually pick a smoke/red flake trick stick because it mimics a small minnow very well.
  10. i would guess that the spade shaped bill causes it to have a tighter wobble. im not sure on that though. what i am sure of is they are very good cranks. i like the 2A and SquareA's alot.
  11. DTs are my favorite crankbait. i caught the fish in my avatar on a DT-4 sure-set. very durable and very nice action. i have used all the styles of the DT (regular, flat, fat, sureset) and never had a lip break off. from what ive read though, the lips only broke off on the older ones, and the deeper they dove the more easily they broke (because of the longer, more fragile bill). but they have fixed that problem since and the newer models of DT are very duarble. well reccomended. good luck with your new crankbaits!
  12. oooooo!!!!!! i like your work man!!!! am i too late for the party? i have 6 baits picked out i would love for you to do in tennessee shad! i will PM you...hope you can squeeze me in.
  13. i recently bought an eagle cuda 168 for $70 from BPS. i plan on putting it on my 12ft alum. jonboat too. im gonna hook up the transducer to the trolling motor with a little mounting kit i bought. havent used it yet so i cant really give you a review, but there are some good reviews on bass pros website.
  14. good suggestions so far. also dont forget stick baits. they imitate minnows too. pick youself up a pack or two of *** 4 or 5 inch *** in shimmer shad and smoke red or blue pepper. those mimic minnows great in the water and they are my best producing colors.
  15. fourbizz, do you have pictures of your work? i have a few cranks that arent beat up at all, infact, they've never been used. i just flat out dont like the colors, so i dont fish em. but if you could paint em all pretty that would be cool.
  16. OMG IM DYING! WHAT IS THE PROTOTYPE!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!? (thats not gonna cut it is it? youre not gonna tell me are you?) nice job catchin fish oh, and why is fishing a c-rig in a canoe dangerous? :-?
