  1. Give it to someone you don't like. The line is too thick, way too strong and far too stiff for bass fishing. The worst part, you cannot break it even when you want to (hang-ups). are you serious or are you kidding? :-?
  2. what i do is i just spool on about 1/4 of the spool with backing and do the other 3/4 with my braid. if you really wanted to conserve braid (or whatever line your using that requires backing) you could spool up most of the spool with backing and then spool on 2 or 3 good casts worth of braid.
  3. i think that ones a perch. paxamus, is there any kind of wildlife museum around that you could visit? they might have a display of a skeleton mounted or something.
  4. hahaha!!!!!! I don't understand? georgiabassfisherman, feel free to IM me whenever you want. im on alot.
  5. brian pretty much covered it. you can get them anywhere that sells lure building supplies.
  6. thats awesome. how big was the bass? also, what kind of gear were you using to throw the bait?
  7. it can sit nose down? thast neat. i'll have to pick one up in bluegill color and use it on bedding bass.
  8. i have some YUM Bill Dance pre-rigged crawbugs and they have the hollow scent chamber. i've only heard of YUM doing this.
  9. wow this thread went no where fast ;D quite entertaining though! that "I don't understand" pic had me laughing very hard. georgiabassfisherman, if a member put their screen name in their profile there will be a little aim button below their signature on their posts that you can click to IM them with AIM. you should be able to see my screen name below my posts. long mike, a little harsh, no? that last cat picture is hilarious!!!!!! i love lolcats!!!
  10. st. croix avid AC66MM.
  11. well i been playing around with the line a little bit (cutting it, tying knots, burning it lol ;D) and i noticed that this 20lb is very stiff and its hard to tie a good knot with it because its so stiff. anybody have any suggestions as to what i can do?
  12. dont want to steal the thread but what is PC-7 and who makes it and where can i get it (my boat leaks down the seam.)
  13. well it says its a medium power and it doesnt say what action. but its a stiff rod. its stiffer than my M power avids. i suppose i could buy one to try it out, but at $10 each thats not a bait i want to buy only to find out i cant cast it.
  14. lol that was funny. i like how in the first 3 min or so when hes around the other boats he does that funny 2-syllable laugh "hah-HAH!" ;D
  15. http://www.rapala.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=super_shad_rap&freshorsalt=Fresh anybody ever use one for bass before? i was thinking of getting one in shiner color. they are heavy though, 1 5/8oz. i dont have any rods that capacitate lures that heavy. i could probably get away with lobbing it on my lightning rod. but yeah, how do these fare with bass?
  16. are you serious!!! thats hilarious
  17. what i do is i put some mono on for about 1/4 of the spool, then i tie on my powerpro and just fill the rest of the spool with it. it serves as a backing and it cuts down on how much poewrpro i go thru (although braided line lasts a very very long time).
  18. is that second one a peacock bass?
  19. it was just the hybrid. they did have some stren superior i think it was. and there was some other kind of line i dont remember what it was. all of em were on sale for a very good price. the highest price was like $4.50 i think and that was for the stren.
  20. last time i used topozone to look at lakes it just showed them as a flat purple or blue area that is shaped like the lake. no contors. have they changed it?
  21. my favorite technique for prespawn/spawning bass is definitley crankbaits/jerkbaits. i love to run a shallow crank or jerkbait over bass beds. my favorites to use are rapala DT in sizes 3 and 4 (6 if the waters deep enough), xraps are also very productive; my favorite size of xrap is size10. if the spawning beds are very shallow (a few spawning flats around here are in only 6-8" of water) then you should also try a bandit footloose or rapala original floater in size 11. with the xrap i jerk it alot and then pause it when its close to a bed. with the cranks what i do is i will just reel em straight back, but make sure the crank dives deep enough to dig into the bottom or close to it. i will run it over and around the beds. good luck! prespawn/spawn is a fun time to fish for bass!
  22. bandits are awesome crankbaits. they are my runner up crank (after rapala). my favorite bandit crank is the footloose. i like this because it has something rapala cant offer to me, a waking crankbait. i also have the bandit 100's and 200's and they are great cranks, but i would use a rapala DT 3 or 4 before i'd use a bandit.
  23. dont know if its going on at your walmarts, but i just got back and they had an entire shelf piled high with 600 yard spools of 20lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid line in smoke and green for $3.50 a spool!!!. i got a spool of smoke. they also had some other lines for sale. its 20lb so its pretty thick line. not really sure what im gonna use it for but i figure it's good to have just in case and i couldnt pass it up for 3.50 a spool.
  24. just came back from walmart. i ended up with the most expensive pair they had, a 18.87 dollar pair of poly carbonate renegades. says its 1.1mm thick polycarbonate lenses w/ scratch resistance stuff and 100% UV and UBA protection, and theyre polarized and the lenses are grey.
  25. never seen anything like those before. do they float?
