  1. oh yeah i ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have my tan adidas hat when i fish and i try so hard to always wear my OG bass fishing t-shirt every time i fish (sometimes its in the wash though >) even if its winter and i have 3 jackets on i will still have that t-shirt on somewhere in the mix....just see my pictures, i have a pretty standard outfit: http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f120/davidsaavedra/peteys10807008.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f120/davidsaavedra/pond38-12-07006.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f120/davidsaavedra/scbass001.jpg
  2. fishing is always better when the gas light is on in my dads truck! ;D also ALWAYS must have some sort of metal/hard rock playing on the way to the fishin trip, can never be silent. on the way home its a different story, music is optional. me n' my dad usually hit up the nearest burger king after a fishin' trip too, no matter what time of day it is! when im fishin w/ mah friend travis on weekday mornings during the summer his dad takes us on his way to work and we always stop at 7-11 for frappuccinos and donuts and usually dont eat the donuts cuz we forget about them cuz we've already started fishing. ;D
  3. that looks nice. also looks matte.....do you have a clear coat on them? those could pass for a smallmouth pattern too
  4. classy color chart you have there ;D : ;D
  5. lol i will definitley be giving that one a shot. how, where, and when do you fish it?
  6. i voted yes a high frequency ticking is great for me, but obnoxious clacking is not good. the lakes i fish just a small amount of noise is all you need for fish to locate the bait cuz the water is heavily stained.
  7. Metal, Hard Rock, and some Orchestra, if its played right *cough* Metallica S&M *cough* AC/DC Black Sabbath Deep Purple Dio Ennio Morricone Guns N' Roses Led Zeppelin Metallica Motorhead The Offspring Ozzy Rammstein Ted Nugent Tony Iommi Twisted Sister Van Halen
  8. well i'll be dead anyway so whats it matter to me where it goes right? lol ;D j/k well i dont have a wife or kids (thank gawd! last thing i need right now is to be a teenage father) so im not sure where it would all go. i guess my dad would keep it all since he fishes too...but he never fishes on his own. oh well, i'd still want him to have it.
  9. lol get a huge LP (curado 300) and you should be good!
  10. ok thanks. what exactly is that? is it similar to an epoxy? oh, and by the way, do you have a drying wheel to get even clear coats?
  11. you may want to try this: take little 1 square inch pieces of paper and roll them up and stick them in the eyes before you powder coat them. that way no paint will get in the eyes to begin with. when the powder coat has cured you just pull out the paper and you have a clean eye.
  12. wow thats great! what a bargain too ;D keep it up man, maybe you could make a few of them and sell them for a good chunk of money... as for me well, i paid $0 for my tying bench because i got it from my aunt when she was cleaning out her basement. its a huge computer desk and i put a few plastic organizers on it. its pretty cool. i like it. better than when i used to be tying on my 1 square foot nightstand :
  13. thank you paul! i was thinkin of cookin up a big batch of these. going out to the store and pickin up a bunch of hardbaits and then putting custom finishes on them and selling them to make a little profit. what do you guys think? good idea?
  14. Jay, what do you use for a clear coat? i plan on re-painting a bunch of baits soon and i need a good clear coat. i have used devcon 2-ton epoxy before but i was wondering if there was something else that would make a good clear coat.
  15. are those leather/pork skin? they look pretty plain.
  16. last week i got 600yds of yo zuri hybrid for $3.50. line was all that was on sale though.
  17. ronnie, that is one interesting lure. i may just have to try something similar to that, except with a 10" culprit as a trailer cuz i have no idea what a black widow eel is. :-?
  18. Sam, BPS is quite a drive away and i can only make it up there one or two times a year. and i went recently last month. so thats not much of an option. and i dont want any BPS branded stuff. i looked on their website and it seemed all of their combos were on a BPS rod. seems like the symetre is a winner for the price. how about the premier? anyone have a good review with those?
  19. lol sam why you always pickin on me hah just kiddin.
  20. jigs do pretty well for big fish, just ask hawg caller! but its not all about the bait, locating the fish is probably harder than catching it. but thats not what you asked, so i dont want to go into that. jigs, and large plastics (10" worms, etc) catch some monsters.
  21. hey guys, im upgrading to a nice spinning rig. i wanted to buy a st. croix premier and a shimano symetre. is this a good combo? are the rod and reel both well built and good quality (for the price range) are there any better rods or reels that you could suggest in this price range? thanks guys
  22. i think sexy shad is ok. im not too fanatical over it. i like bombers tennessee shad more. i've seen red eye shads in sexy shad at my loca dicks a lot...not scarce around here.
  23. THAT ONE IS HILARIOUS!!!! ;D ;D ;D
  24. i voted for citica because that is the only shimano baitcaster i've used, but i love it!
