  1. yeah his eyes do look good. are they stick on eyes though? for some reason i thought those eyes were affixed to the inernal lead head somehow. for this bait i just popped off the eyes from the original bait and then refinished the bait and stuck th eyes back on. i think they look pretty good.
  2. its not quite done yet, i still have to apply the epoxy, but here is my newest bait: let me know what you think!
  3. the paint must be enamel or it wont work. im not sure what createx is, but if it is enamel then it will work. heck, im using $0.96 cans of walmart brand enamel spray paint, so im sure if you used a good paint it would turn out better.
  4. i believe reelmech's site sells them individually...not sure...lemme check. ok i checked and his website doesnt have them. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/fuji-tip-tops/ this website has them though . the alconites you are looking for are the last one on the second page. quick link to the alconites: http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/fuji-tip-tops/230994.aspx
  5. wow thats very cool. those bluegills fight VERY hard for their size. if bluegills grew to 5lbs, i'd probably drop bass fishing and fish for them! ;D that reminds me of the time my dad got a bluegill that was a little bit smaller than yours, but he caught it on a 7.5" power worm and a 3/0 worm hook!
  6. very cool! i converted one of my lightning rods too! bottom:
  7. its very simple. basspro96 pretty much got it right, excet for the angle. i have found it gives a pretty bad pattern if you use a 45° angle. from my tests, the close to 0° the better the result. and you also want a very light mist of, because a heavy spraying of paint will cause it to be really dark (like in the bottom right corner of my test). so you wanna keep as low of an angle as possible and be about a foot away or maybe farther. sam, i plan on putting it on a few lures to make em look purdy. not sure if it will attract fish or girls . and im goin fishin this evening and tomorrow morning, so i'll let you know whether or not the dogwoods are blooming .
  8. anything with a lead head and a skirt >
  9. why is the fish darker in the third pic?
  10. its starting to warm up here. i will take it after you gummybear. let me know when it is available and i will PM you my address. anyone know what size this lure is? im trying to figure out what gear i should use it on when it gets here.
  11. i love my citicas. what i do is i will always have the two opposite brake weights (pink pieces) pulled out and the rest in. then i will adjust the spool tension knob (located on the other side of the reel next to the drag) so that when i click into freespool the lure will slowly fall to the ground. oh and btw, if you cant decide between citica and revo, get the citica...you wont be disappointed .
  12. nice offer. hopefully someone can make use of em....maybe they could store paint in em :-?
  13. i love split grips. that being said: i DONT think that they add to sensitivity i DONT think that they noticably reduce weight and i TOTALLY DONT think they increase casting distance :-? that statement by the st. croix dude was 97% marketing 3% truth. the only way i could see that design giving you any more distance would be that the grip design "forces" you to hold the rod all the way down by the butt (unless you're weird and hold the blank while you cast). holding the rod this way could give you a tiny bit more leverage, but not much to make it a selling point. just marketing. IMO.
  14. lol, neato
  15. same here, jimzee! its too bad it ended so abruptly :'(.
  16. my dad's old rinky dink nissan had 200,000 on it. that thing was a major piece of junk. the pleather was torn to shreds on the seats, it was all dinged up, there was a big smash mark where someone backed into him, it had been thru several mufflers, he even ducktaped the sude mirror on cuz it fell off! he sold it shortly after the 200,000 mile mark for 800 bucks.
  17. learned this new technique a few days ago. looks really sweet. i havent put it on a lure yet but here is a photo of a sample i did on a piece of clear packing tape. lemme know what you think: i plan on painting a lure bright blue and then applying this paintjob over it. the paintjob would be more intended for "show" than to attract fish, but the lure will be fishable. so what do you guys think?
  18. yeah x2 medium rare w/ all the juices gives it so much more flavor and keeps it pretty tender.
  19. hey i havent been on in a day so i missed this post. it is a bill lewis mini trap (1/4 oz). it doesnt have raised eyes or the fin because i sanded them off to make it easier to apply the finish. i really hope you do get some nice fish on it. be sure to take some pictures too!
  20. too much southpark ;D
  21. not much at all. a little bit sticks to it but burns off in seconds.
  22. yeah i've made some really crazy and big baits out of several torn up baits. i prefer to use a wood burning tool instead of a heated piece of metal. i find it much easier cuz the wood burner never cools off like a heated paperclip would. you can buy wood burners at wal mart for 8 bucks. i dont think they have battery powered ones though, mine plugs into the wall.
  23. lol. i should have known. first thing i noticed about the pic is that i had seen the fish hologram before. ah, here it is: http://www.ingvar.is/Plants/Amerio/Herring.JPG oh and here it is again: http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/hard-baits/7671-photo-finishing-foil-faux-finishes-tutorial.html both those photos were takin right off the internet. but since you made it seem like this was a "Garage Bait" that somebody cooked up, i figured they probably used the internet pic. nice elaborate prank mr. zel but even if they were real i wouldnt buy them >
  24. i cant remember the show i saw this on....it was on the VS channel. there were these two pros were having a competetion in a shallow cove to see who could catch the most "perch" on them in 5 minutes. they were catching bluegills and calling them perch :-? i thought that was pretty dumb of them. but it looks like great fun for bluegills and panfish and stuff, but idk about bass fishing with one! love to see a 8lb bass get ahold of one of those! ;D there are some pretty good youtube videos of this boat in action against some bass too. they caught a bass that looked about 15 inches long and it was tugging that boat underwater!
