  1. Best deal on Black Friday..... good spot on the couch with a cold beverage.....
  2. Well there is Pine Cliff park, Monocacy Park, and in Buckeystown if you go back Michael's Mill road there is a little park at the intersection with Rt. 80. The parking lot is close enough to take a canoe down. Sure there are others, will have to think about it for awhile As far as trophy, thats just Marylands designation for catch and release areas. I have seen up to 18 in smallmouth, have heard but not seen up to 22 inch smallmouth. The largest musky was 40 inches. The main forage for smallmouth is crayfish, so most baits mimic them deep in the pools.
  3. .arb files? do you do woodworking, or use some type of computer aided design?
  4. Oh yeah, I have been fishing it for a few years. The area from Buckeystown to the Potomac is "trophy" waters, so you cannot legally keep any bass caught. There are a few places to put in and its very wadeable , the dam in Buckeystown is good and also has some nice musky. A popular method for this stretch it is to do float trips.
  5. Tommybass mentioned flotation pods, never really checked them out before. How much stability, if any, would they add?
  6. I live and work in Germantown. Most of my fishing at Black Hills. I do also hit the potomac and monocacy in the area. Bought my first boat, a 14 ft jon this year so spent time trying to learn things away from the bank. Never tried to heated waters, may have to take a walk around Dickerson see if I can find some spots...
  7. Problem is with bankruptcy to recover they would need credit loans to keep in business. Not exactly easily to come by right now
  8. Jeff Dunham won last years comedy central contest for best standup, his shows sell out.
  9. Have to go with Jeff Dunham, Jimmy Carr, and Lewis Black....
  10. actually never heard of AB Seas....will try them. I have been holding out hope of getting out again so haven't winterized the boat yet. Doesn't look good so need to go ahead and do it but don't have a book. Never done it before figured the manual would help...
  11. I am trying to find a manual for a 1993 25 hp johnson outboard, not having much luck. Anyone know of a good place to look?
  12. I play all the time, every wednesday night in my league in Frederick. Robin hooding darts is great, just to bad the second dart doesn't actually count.....
  13. Welcome to a great site!!! What kind of waters to you plan on fishing? Large lakes, smaller lakes, or rivers..? I bought my first boat this year, the one thing I found out is to go for the most stable you can.
  14. the motor is a 93 johnson 25hp, I just bought the boat earlier this year. The prior owner says he never changed it. I took it to a boat shop to have it looked over and they said since its pumping well not to bother with it. It still pumps a steady stream but a just a "little" concerned with its age. I am not mechanically inclined, would it be better to just to have the shop winterize it and change the pump?
  15. Another quick question about winterizing, when changing the lower unit oil is it to go ahead and replace the water pump or just wait until spring....? Does it really matter when?
  16. Basser, share the spot with you, of course. Once you leave the boat ramp on your right just past the Park Police boat area there is a little bit of straight bank. At the end of it is cuts back to an old dead tree. Right at the corner of were it cuts back about 12-15 feet off the bank.
  17. Nice basser, I was out at Black Hills on Monday. Got a couple, best was 16 1/2 inch. Not huge but nice chuck. The fishfinder came in handy, I had been by this spot all season this time happened to catch a small hump or rock in about 20ft of water. Second cast on a senko got him.
  18. Vista seems good when your machine is built for it and comes pre-installed. Upgrades are a different story, a lot of issues with backwards compatibility. Oh, and if you use your pc for working from home Vista compatibility with some VPN systems is a little troubling....
  19. wow, a bud with some taste to it....I am shocked..... yes just kidding.....
  20. Linux is very good, the only caveat is you have to be a little more computer literate. Things Windows does easily for users (ex. software loading) is a little more involved in Linux. However, the Linux OS is free, most apps are free, you can get just about anything to run with it on some fairly outdated equipment. And they have good support online amongst Linux users.
  21. What are everyone's non-fishing hobbies?? Mine is steel-tip darts, every wednesday night is a couple of cold ones while throwing darts.
  22. Can't just get probation, some of the 12 counts had mandatory sentences. He will get time is the big house this time.
  23. Been reading reviews and others thoughts on soft swimbaits. Looks like the two most popular are the Berkeley Hollow Body, and the Yum Money Minnow. Curious on what the thoughts are from the experts here at Bassresource.
  24. Everyone seems to be so into swimbaits, they do look amazingly realistic. However I can't seem to justify the cost for a lure I may cast once, get hung up and lose. Are they really work it?
  25. It dropped because the 700 billion bailout was rejected. It will, and needs to happen.
