  1. I love my Dobyns rods, definitely not going wrong there. As for the specific rod for what you want to do David P. on here can answer all your questions about these rods. If he doesn't reply in a day or so PM him.
  2. I fish as a non-boater, and make sure for tourneys prior to going what my portion will be. For fun fishing I offer, sometimes the boater says no. Other times I pay for my half. Personally I would inquire nicely about the cost, maybe he doesn't know. If you get an answer you don't appreciate drop him.
  3. Unless you are really comfortable with the chance of ending up with a BPS Extreme paperweight I would suggest sending it to Mike at DVT. Just got 6 reels back he cleaned/serviced for me. Great quick service, in addition to the discounts.
  4. Very, very rarely use rattles on my jigs.
  5. Joined my first club last year, had a great time and learned a lot. I was worried a little how a newbie non-boater would be treated but it was a lot of fun. The one thing to keep in mind is don't overthink what you are doing. Keep it simple, and try to stick with things you have confidence in. Also, talk to you boater before the tourney, make sure you know how he wants to do things. Each person is different, it his/her boat so its there rules.
  6. Hellbender, I don't believe you.....you used a jig.... Haven't made it out this year yet, the way it looks will be a couple of weeks before I have a chance. Lee.MD, not going to the expo this year.
  7. I really like my Bucco, I use it for jig/work fishing and it does very well. If possible go to a place and handle the rods. Everyone has their own likes/dislikes on how a rod should feel.
  8. Delaware Vally Tackle is a site sponsor and by all accounts on here do great work. I am sending 6 reels to them today for cleaning.
  9. Of the rods you have listed, I would go with the Dobyns.
  10. My wife is into the Pandora bracelet charms, got her several of those and an electric blanket (a practical gift she requested).
  11. Well he has learned what dead sticking is because of the game, so the answer is yes you can learn from it....... ;D
  12. Got a couple things: Dobyn's Champion 765 CB Glass Curado 200E5 Save Phace mask Under Armour Base 3.0 set
  13. Yeah, its to bad he got hurt so the new years eve record attempt got canceled.
  14. The biggest concern with using the kits is the ink the printer manufacture uses is made to worth with their printers. Things such as lubrication, thickness of the ink. Refilling with other ink may not work as well and may harm the printer.
  15. I use KVD Line & Lure, on all three. For me I can see a difference in line manageability and cast length when I treat the line the night before I go on a fishing trip.
  16. Lately, been listening to Five Finger Death Punch.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBMT3OMEPwk
  17. Shane J., Don't think that promotion is still ongoing.
  18. Personally I would not use braid, the lack of stretch may be causing you to pull the bait away from the fish. Switching to 17lb to 20lb mono may help your hookup's.
  19. Great to see you back Russ!!
  20. Grossman is not the answer but neither has McNabb. He has been playing very bad, people can point to a lack of receivers or the O-line. But his play has been bad with decisions and throws where those didn't factor in. Makes me wonder who they will draft, at this point they have to get a qb
  21. Easiest way is to pass the line thru not doubled over, pull a long tag then take the tag and and go back thru the hookeye the opposite way as the first time. Just be sure not to pull it the whole way thru again. This way you don't have to force the doubled over line into the small hole.
  22. A big annoyance is guys like the one in the picture. Have the whole potomac river to fish and this guy comes into where a friend and I were fishing. The area is a warm water discharge, we were casting to the other side. He saw us doing this and came right through were we were casting. The warm water flows from here into the main river and provides 1/4 to 1/2 mile of fishing areas. Most is unreachable from shore, perfect for a boat. Got a little funny because he wanted to fish one particular spot. But a group a kayak competition was using the upper part of the discharge for a competition. The pool this idiot wanted to fish was their turn around area. Got a little of his own medicine before he left.
