  1. As Rhino pointed out all natural does not mean safe, just a nice little marketing ploy. These supplements do not go thru FDA testing, do the compounds get removed from the body properly. Or do they gather in the a part of the body causing issues later, how hard are the kidneys working to remove them.... to many questions with serious implications to rely on taking the next big break thru...until the next big break thru.
  2. Nice trip Bill, should have a great day for it. I may get out for half of Sunday, have to see how things work out. If I do I am sure it will be BH since its so close and my next tourney is there on June 9th.
  3. Heavy grass is a bass haven in hot weather. For me it is frogs in the morning, shakeyhead if there are holes in the grass, or if its thick punch thru it will weights up to 1 1/2 oz.
  4. I have had very good luck with Garmin products, not sure if portable units have the FM traffic feature but if they do it is a great feature to have. It has saved me from bad traffic multiple times.
  5. Hard to say as both have their moments, however I would go with jigs. At least in my experiences jigs are a more consistent bait.
  6. I fish as a co-angler in a local club, I would not fish as one if I had to fish against boaters. The advantage is to great. If you were supposed to get half the day running the boat, what did you do during your time? Was he purposefully leaving you nothing, or fishing a pattern which happened to leave you fewer options?
  7. Boat called a "worry free toy"....never heard that one before. The one good thing about new is its under warranty. Just keep in mind the expenses of running a boat when determining how much you want to spend.
  8. A thin light colored long sleeve shirt is actually cooler, when I was worked as a corner worker for the SCCA I always worn long sleeves. Look at pictures of people around the world who live in deserts, or other hot climates. Most wear long sleeves....
  9. 5bass, you are correct. First thing i thought of when they said the gun shot was to his chest. If anyone can watch Mr. Seau's mother talking about the death of her son, seeing the pain she is going thru and still say things don't need to be improved for these players something is wrong. RIP Mr. Seau
  10. Rage baby craw, Rage craw, Berkeley Chigger craw to name a few. There are a huge variety and I am sure you will get an endless list. The 3 I listed are the ones I have had the most success with.
  11. I would love to see someone explain to a DNR rep they were really not trying to snag fish with that rig. By the letter of the law its a rig used for snagging, in this one instance it got bit. That will not get you out of a fine if caught with it no matter what your personal thoughts on the rig are.
  12. Tried a search but coming up with no good results. My question is, what is everyone's favorite grass jigs. Want to add these into my arsenal but not sure which ones to get.
  13. Fish at BH from 9am to 6:30pm yesterday, not one of my better days. Could not seem to hook up, kept getting bite and missing on the hookset. The friend I was with got a few nice ones, but bite did turn tough in the afternoon. Glad to get a day like that out of the way before the tourney next weekend.....
  14. Welcome dewwhat....add me to the list of guys in germantown. I am tied up this week but should be shore fishing next week after work. Heading over to fish black hills today with a friend from club. He is really good on bh so hopefully will get into a few.
  15. Bill, here is the link to the DNR's list of boat ramps http://www.dnr.state.md.us/boating/boatramps.asp The one I am thinking of in Montgomery County is Seneca Creek/Seneca Creek Landing, after you go out of Seneca Creek and hit the river turn right. There is a series of islands which have good fishing around. As always keep a good eye out for shallow areas. The Washington County place is Dargen Bend.
  16. I would look for humps out in deeper water. Otherwise areas with some type of depth break which shallow areas close to deeper water.
  17. Sean, on your first disagreement. Fish can be caught off of bed, but they are not feeding they are looking to get the bait out of their bed. Sometimes you can get an aggressive fish to bite quickly, sometimes it takes time and a bunch of cast. The second disagreement, we actually agreed not all fish spawn at the same time. Not getting out this weekend, need to get some stuff down around the house. Have a tourney next weekend so won't be able to do it then. May get out after work on monday depending on weather.
  18. Welcome GOFORIT, unfortunately I don't really know any places in your area. I am down in Montgomery County. Let us know how the fishing goes, with the weather recently it could be a great bite if you catch it at the right time, or they will have lockjaw. Hard to predict until you get there. Bill, nice looking boat. Trying to think of places on the Potomac to put in a prop motor. Only places i can think of is down here just outside of Germantown. Or a couple places in Washington County. Let me know if you are interested I will send you a PM. Kevin, my observations during the spawn, others may disagree, are the bite gets very touch around the time of actual spawn and for a few days after. The bass just don't eat a lot during this time period. After the spawn the males can be caught while guarding the nest. The females will move to a little deeper water and rest but then the post spawn bite will start which can be great. The length of the spawn is a best guess, not every fish spawn at the same time, some already have, others will spawn during the full moon next weekend. Don't get overly worried about bed fishing, especially doing catch and release. They will move back once released.
  19. Good luck this weekend, I started fishing tourney's in a local club two years ago. Has been a great experience, I have learned a ton. I think a lot of members here fish tourney's on some level. For those who don't but have thought about it I recommend it.
  20. If they males are guarding fry, either a top-water, or a floating jerkbait can work well. Make it look like your bait is attacking the fry. Being in protective mode will have them attack your bait.
  21. Sean, did your fingers start burning when you typed I summed things up well Hope this weather levels out here soon, these hot days to cold day swings is not helping the fishing.
  22. Welcome Jay, I don't get up to your area myself. But I am pretty sure we have a couple other members who fish that area. This forum is a great place to get Maryland specific info. Bill, to get a boat registered in Maryland the trailer will need to be inspected and registered with the MVA. Any gas station which does MD State inspections will do it for you. Once you have that you can take the title, and inspection information to an MVA location to registered. Be prepared, you will need to pay taxes on the amount paid for the trailer. For the boat, its just filling out the paperwork from the DNR website. You can either send it in to any of the states DNR sites listed on the paperwork or you can stop by in person if one is close. Again you get to pay taxes on the amount paid. This is rather generic info, any specific questions let me know I will do my best to answer them.
  23. Lizards do seem to work well, repeated cast either dragging it thru the nest or letting it set in the middle of the nest. I got one over the weekend after about 30 cast I casted over the nest reeled my lizard to right over the nest and let it drop. She came from about 3-4 feet away immediately and crushed it.
  24. We put ourselves thru it because its fun...if it was easy every day it wouldn't be nearly as fun. Congrats on the win.
