I agree with ww2farmer, there is no such thing as to big in regards to trolling motors. Get the biggest you can afford, or can fit on your boat. You may not need the power all the time, but when you do you will greatly appreciate it.
Also, the batteries will last longer and the unit itself will last longer because you can use it with a lower percent of full strength.
I was on the river out of Pohick that day, never seen anything like it. Backed the truck up to where the water line was at the front tires and still had 2/3 of the bunk boards out of the water. Had to take the winch strap as far as it would reach to pull the boat onto the trailer. The people there with pleasure boats were having an even worse time.
But yeah, the bite was good, great day until the fight to get the boat out of the water.
8lb Seagur Invizx, use it on all but one spinning rod (the other is for topwater). Spool it tight and use KVD L&L while spooling and the evening before fishing. Have had great luck with it, good knot strength, abrasion resistant, strong, and low vis.
MarkH024, there are no aspects of the horse which are cheap. Fortunately she got a great deal on the horse, and the facility where she keeps it is a friend so we get a deal their too.
My wife and my money are separate, she buys what she wants for her horse (she rides reigning horses in competitions) I buy what I want for fishing. House expenses are split up but the rest we are on our own. Makes life a lot easier.
Seaguar Invizx in 8lb if the water is clear, I use it on all of spinning rods except 2 which I use for topwaters. Never had an issue with line management, I do use KVD Line and Lure.
I have one extra spool with braid but not the biggest fan of it. If there is a breeze blowing it gets wrapped around the rod tip sometimes, and I hate having to tie the extra knot to use a leader.
Flouro is for clear water but no issue in dirty water just does not take advantage of its low visibility properties.
My thoughts are Abrazx works great on baitcast gear, so why not take the abrasion resistance. Ever if I am fishing more open water you still find stumps, trees, bushes, etc sometimes so why switch to Inviszx if you don't need to.
Transfer thru the eye is actually one of the easiest methods of transfer. About the only thing easier is an open wound.
Would not get to worried though, but any discomfort or the eye being bloodshot I would head straight to the doctors office.
The one big thing to avoid is making the decision based on what money you think you can earn. I get asked questions sometimes about the cyber security field since it is in demand. I do not mind answering the questions, but what really bothers me is how many times the first question is how much do I make. Taking a job based on money will fail, you have to be sure it is something you enjoy doing otherwise you get to a point you hate going to work in the morning. And that is no way to go thru life.
A t-rigged bait is worked with the rod not the reel, so the gear ratio won't affect that. The general thought on 7:1 reels is they will allow you to get the back in quicker for more cast and getting fish out of cover quicker.
If you have store close which carries the reels you are interested in go stick them on a rod and see how they feel. Everyone likes different things.
derekxec, those people will be around no matter what you do. They are completely unavoidable and should not keep you doing things. Plus it makes it way more fun when you beat them. I have honestly had very little experiences since joining a club, think what helps is this club is not BASS affiliated.
Not sure what part of the country you are in but in the east here it seems the fish are in all different phases. The weather has been so unpredictable it has everything mixed up.
1. A big resounding yes
2. I was okay, I grew up fishing but doing so wading creeks and rivers for smallies. Getting into tourneys I had to learn larger rivers and lake fishing from a boat. Before joining my club I had never been in a bass boat, only some small jon boats on electric only. Rather interesting experience the first few times. But fishing with guys way better than me, talking with them, and watching what they do has made me a long better angler. Still have a lot to learn though.
