  1. I use my smart phone for a lot, one app not mentioned so far is a radar app. I can check for any storms coming by opening the app. Only one touch necessary. The geek side of me enjoys the Pebble smart watch, due to work I need to keep an eye on text/emails. They come to my watch so I don't have to pull out the phone, unlock it, and such to see what it takes 2 seconds on my watch. Also shows who is calling without have to walk where the phone is if I am busy.
  2. Corvette is a larger car.
  3. What you have is an overly front heavy car which hurts handling. For a car the size of this one, you can easily get the 500hp with a lower weight engine, and smaller profile so it can be shoved as far back and low as it can go. Same power, lower weight is priceless.
  4. Don't think anyone is saying that boaters are "better" only they are at an advantage in getting first shot and good spots. And if they wish they can position the boat to further limit to co-anglers shot at targets. This provides a distinct advantage especially when fishing shallow cover or docks. Find a club which does team tourney's or co-anglers do not compete against boaters. There is a reason their co-angler numbers are so low. As with anything in life some clubs are better than others. Find one that works for what you want to do.
  5. Even if temporary on line guides if it stays for a day it may be good for cold weather fishing to keep ice from forming.
  6. Not a big fan of flappy paddles, prefer a regular manual gearbox in sports cars. Would also prefer a twin turbo V6 instead of a V8.
  7. Oh tnriverluver I wish I could, other circumstances keep that from happening.
  8. Is there solar which could reasonably charge two deep cycle and a starter battery? How big would the panel be?
  9. Nope, can't do it for even a few minutes. We don't have parking for each individual house its a regular parking lot. Not allowed to put any kind of trailer in the lot. Fishing multiple electric only lakes pretty much kills the idea of the Stay in Charge. I figured it would be having to pull batteries, just wanted to see if anyone had run into this and had other ideas. Not sure how I missed the earlier thread.
  10. Maybe a temporary outage and it got cached.
  11. I have had great performance out of the SealSkin socks. Fishing in 26 degree weather with the wind blowing with no issues with my feet getting cold.
  12. Would love to get a boat, tired of bumming rides. Can find a few in my price range but having another issue. Where I live I cannot keep a boat or have it parked for any length of time. So they requires me to put the boat in storage. The issue is the only places around me that I can do this at with 24 hour access doesn't have electric hookups. Trying to get any ideas on how to handle this, at this point it would mean pulling the batteries each time to charge them at my house. With multiple trolling motor only lakes a 24v system would be needed. So, looking for any thoughts on how best to deal with this situation.
  13. The 2014 season is fast approaching, if you live in the Germantown Maryland area and have thought about joining a bass club Fish On Bass Anglers is looking for both boaters and co-anglers. We are a local club but fish a variety of locations, Black Hills, lower Potomac, Lake Anna, Lake Gaston, Smith Mountain and Deep Creek to name a few. The philosophy of the club is to have fun, be social and teach. I have been in the club for several years now and can honestly say it has been a lot of fun and I have learned a lot. If anyone is interested the website is www.fishonbassclub.com. If you have any questions just send me a PM I will be happy to answer any questions.

  15. There really is not a need to go the expense level of a Chronarch or Curado unless you got extra money laying around. A Citica or Revo S works great and can last a long time if taken care of. Once you get comfortable and you want to keep doing it then figure out what aspects you like and upgrade
  16. My big mistake on my first one was buying a cheap one to learn on. Grew extremely frustrated and almost gave up until I read some post on here about people having the same issue. Bought a used Citica, it was a night and day difference. So my advice would be to get a quality reel, doesn't have to be expensive.
  17. There is no fully safe way, but what I did to my truck was a hard aluminum cover and a lockable tailgate. If you can't open the tailgate you can't fold back the cover. someone would have to start cutting metal to get in,
  18. I do exactly what Slonezp says...8lb on spinning, either 12 or 20 on baitcasters depending on what baits I am throwing and cover.
  19. I have two setups for this, one is 12lb abrazx, the other 20lb abrazx. Depends on cover which one I go with. The stretch in flouro is a concern when choosing one that is more manageable, mainly made for spinning reels. Tougher lines like Abrazx don't stretch near as much and have very good abrasion resistance.
  20. Any technology will go down in price as the new models come out. It is just a waiting game.
  21. You can put in any place you can get access to the water, there are boat passes over by the 121 bridge for this purpose. However the lake is closed to boats for the year. It will reopen March 1st.
  22. Excellent sound and video, enjoy a video that is just about the song and enjoying it. No special effects or dramatic crap. Have you seen the drummers personal project, Scar the Martyr? Saw them at a small club in DC called the 9:30 club with Rob Zombie. A great show from beginning to the end for a venue which holds less than a thousand people. Up close and personal.
  23. Interesting to see how many people are posting about fishing places which hold big fish. I take this part of it as not a particular size, like a DD. Rather as fishing for the biggest fish where you are at. Sure some places hold bigger fish but if the place I am fishing only holds fish up to 5 or 6 pounds catching that is my "trophy" fish I am going for.
  24. 1. Don't be afraid to throw into heavy cover, losing baits is part of the game. 2. Don't be satisfied catching a bunch of smaller fish if you want big fish. 3. Fish jigs.
  25. It is not hard at all and is the best you will ever have.
