  1. There is no way I would try that, sky diving was as close as I would go. My sky diving trip was to much fun though....need to go jump again but with a parachute
  2. Now that as a great TV show....
  3. Awesome fish, congrats...some good inspirations as I prepare to go out today.
  4. Welcome Webbster, I see you are from Boonsboro that is where I grew up. I currently live in Germantown. Been awhile since I fished the spots you list, I would take a look at Big Pool (in Fort Frederick State Park) and Cunningham Falls. Both can offer some good fishing. This time of year is tough on everyone, in a couple weeks once water gets 55-60 degrees things will get a lot better.
  5. Don't think you need every new toy that comes on the market, or the highest priced equipment. There are a lot of good equipment for decent prices now with all of the competition. You need baits for the situations that you will encounter but that doesn't mean you need a ton of baits. Also, take care of your gear so it last. Don't abuse it and do proper maintenance.
  6. The ice from Black Hills is gone now so it should be opening. Someone would have to call the office to confirm. I am heading down to the lower Potomac saturday, wont be fishing BH for a couple weeks at least.
  7. I have a pair of the sandals and love them, once the weather warms up they are all I ever fish in.
  8. Just wanted to pass some information along for those of you who own boats. My bass club (Fish on Bass Anglers) will be hosting a Boater Safety Program. We will have several inspectors from the Coast Guard to do a safety audit of your boat for both Coast Guard and Maryland state rules. Not only will this help make your boat safer, once you pass you get a sticker for your boat. So when DNR or anyone else stops you they can see the sticker and not hold you up to long. Date - March 22nd Location - Black Hills Regional Park in the gravel overflow parking by the ramp Time - 11:30 If anyone is interested in joining us or have any questions please PM me.
  9. There is no reason to worry about what the other guys are doing, it is not like you can do anything to affect them. Its just you and the fish, concentrate on what you are doing to get the best bag you can and let things fall where they may.
  10. I takes a while for me to completely give up on a specific bait, but there are a few that don't see water very often. Some I don't have confidence in but others I fish with do well with them. I will keep them around and if what I am trying is not working I will give them another shot.
  11. Family over cash anyday
  12. Most of the time will use a 1oz, sometimes will step up to 1 1/2oz.
  13. x3
  14. Rhino, unfortunately it is not true that people do not change. I have seen it multiple times where one party acts a certain way until marriage. Then once they get married they act completely different. Like they do what they think they need to in order to get married then want to impose a completely different lifestyle on the other person like they own them. It never ends well, the end result is divorce or someone who ends up not being happy and going thru the motions of life. The lack of fishing and laziness is one thing but to hear the question about going on vacation with another guy quickly puts it over the edge. If that is true he needs to get out. That does not happen unless they are already involved behind his back.
  15. A 7ft MH if its all purpose. I have mine on a Falcon Bucco, actually liked it so much bought another 50E and Bucco for a duplicate setup. Only different is line weight.
  16. Sometimes being a good dad means getting away from things that put in you in a bad emotional place. Kids do see these things, no matter how hard you try to keep it from them. He either needs to accept this as his life and be happy or make changes which allow him to be happy. If its divorce then so be it. Fishing is the least of the concerns you talked about. Keep an eye on him, make sure depression doesn't start to set in.
  17. Ended up with 19 inches, all is good. Only issue was a horrible job of plowing the parking lot where I live.
  18. I will still chose my F150 Ecoboost....
  19. Hillbilly Blood puts up info each episode the scenario's are setup to show how it can be done. I don't mind it if they are being honest about it like this. It annoys me when shows like the ones mentioned, duck dynasty or turtle man proclaim its their real life. On a side note, turtle man is under federal investigation for animal deaths after they were used in the scenario setup.
  20. The "reality" shows have more writers than a regular TV show. People who work for them have to sign NDA agreements so they cannot talk about how much is completely faked.
  21. Send them an email, they are quick to respond and provide all the info you need.
  22. I try to get hooks out whenever I can but sometimes will leave them in when it looks like I will do more damage than good. That being said, the last place I look for examples of how to handle fish is fishing shows. Some are better than others but some guys are just plan horrible about handling the fish carefully.
  23. Here is a link to the gloves I wear for fishing. I am able to use my baitcast gear while wearing them. http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/ua-extreme-coldgear-glove/pid1212733
  24. Love the D-bombs, t-rigged fished in heavy cover or on punch rigs.
