  1. Big Slackwater is fine for fiberglass boats, its a deep section. During the summer there are a lot of pleasure boats on it.
  2. I miss seeing Fish Chris's pictures
  3. This storm is getting larger by his latest post...some parts of Western Virginia and Eastern West Virginia are showing as getting over 40 inches. As always its subject to change but something to keep an eye on.
  4. I have a 50mm prime lens which is f1.8.
  5. which one? its 5 different lens. Got a variety to cover whatever opportunity comes up.
  6. I shoot a Nikon D5200, I am not a pro by any means but enjoy getting our some to see what I can find. And end up taking a lot of pics of my wifes show horses. I have lens from 18mm to 500mm, and a 50mm macro, either Nikkor or Sigma.
  7. It would be "faster", but adding a second battery will add weight. The bigger advantage would be battery life, and longer life of the trolling motor itself.
  8. Hate snow period but over 20 inches in this area really is no fun at all.
  9. Unless something has drastically changed I dont think any elites use it. The feel and precision of cable steer is far better.
  10. I would be very concerned with stopping and the transmission on a mid-size SUV towing an 18foot glass boat. An SUV like this which you can get for about 5k would have a lot of miles also, shear wear and tear will take its toll.
  11. Abrazx Flouro from 12lb to 20lb depending on cover and/or jig size.
  12. Did this ever summer growing up, best areas I had was the family garden area. Have not done it 25-30 years, well have not used live bait at all in around 8.
  13. You can flip with straight flouro, or braid with a leader. A matter of personal preference, just make sure to have enough strength in the line (and rod) to get fish out of the heavy cover quickly.
  14. And the "issue" with the stadium was brought up by the owner in his papers to the NFL trying to justify moving the team. Does not exactly give it much credibility when the $450 million dollars was set aside by the city.
  15. Keep seeing the information on all the teams that were there and left. Makes me wonder why any team would go back. Even this morning they were talking about how if they do not start winning in 2-3 years the fans will stop going to the games. Not exactly a good setup for business.
  16. They should be allowed to have the same info and tools available to weekend anglers. Electronics available in stores and knowledge from prior trips to that body of water. Nothing special or secret information from locals not available to everyone.
  17. I am a co and go to tourneys with Dobyns Champion Extremes with Chronarchs on them. Not a big deal unless you don't pay attention or do goofy things with them. Most of the time I have 6-8 rods with me for a tourney (no not all like the combos above) and do not run into issues in the boat. I have more concern during transport there, so I use two velcro straps. One near the reels, the other towards the tip. With the line wrapped around the rod and these straps transport turns easy.
  18. That kind of looks like the boat from the upper Chesapeake Bay a couple years ago. Hit a stump and had the outboard land in the middle of the boat.
  19. Gas finally got below $2 here in MD, saw a couple stations at $1.93. Makes the stop to fill up the 36 gallon tank in my truck a lot less painful.
  20. For popper and walking baits you may have some difficulty with getting a good pop with a moderate rods flex. Would get better action on a faster action setup.
  21. The concern has nothing to do with electronics, there is no way they can be removed. The is gaining intel that others do not have access to and he has a great point. They should be allowed to only fish areas they find themselves, not spots they were handed. But enforcement would be next to impossible.
  22. I have been doing the renting different ones to see what works best for me the last couple months. Start with taking a class or two, the range I have been shooting at offers a beginners course. Good to see the basics, and the particular rules of the range. After my trials I have decided to go with a 9mm Sig P226, just have to finish the required license class which I am taking this sunday.
  23. last year was a fluke, and it was still better down there than where we are in MD. The plan is to stay for 4 days, and go for spots. Would be great to have a hotel or house rental that has docks with electric. Makes these trips a lot easier and more fun.
  24. His last update has it as a rain event, the low will pass before the cold air comes in. Unless you live in Ohio up thru New England.
