  1. No reason it cannot be used in tourney's unless there is some odd rule. I have seen 16ft jet boats that went 25mph win tourneys on a large lake against 250hp glitter rockets. A bigger boat does not catch more fish, get what you like and works for you then go kick some tourney arse in it.
  2. Single axle, yes. Dual axle, no.
  3. I am sure their issue is the same as I see, the BassResource logo in the top left covers up that drop down list. You cannot click on it to open it to see the Sign Out option.
  4. Hopefully no team will be dumb enough to make him a head coach again.
  5. High speed reels are great for jig fishing. You use the rod to move the jig, not the reel.
  6. Learn how to run my new boat without destroying it....
  7. Just size and line capacity, its a personal preference choice. Some may try to say the 50 size reels cannot handle some heavier applications but its not true. You can punch, frog, jig, etc with a 50 size reel with no issue.
  8. Its all in how weights are defined, dry weight to trailered weight is a lot more than just adding the trailer. Dry weight has nothing at all in the boat. The trailer weight has everything added to go use it. And no I would not remotely use an Outback as the tow vehicle for an 18ft glass boat.
  9. While true I would not go around pouring oil into your pond/lake....
  10. Well...had a chance to sit down with the book which came with the motor. Found where is says "The Flo-Torq III propeller drive hubs are designed to have a small amount of free play when installed. The free play allows the propeller to slide back and forth on the rear thrust hub (up to 3.17mm[1/8 in]) and rotate up to 10 degrees" This appears to be normal.....
  11. It has never actually been on the water yet, I just had a hot foot installed and that tech noticed the play in it. He pointed it out and said it did make any sense to him, but not being a Mercury rep and knowing its brand new he said to make sure before running it. Got a chance to look around it, I think they installed the wrong rear thrust hub. The one that in it was the full length of the prop, but there was another one with a drive sleeve in the box of paperwork and such the dealer gave me that is half the length.
  12. Quick question, I recently purchased a holdover 2015 Ranger RT188 with a Mercury 115 ProXS. My question is in regards to the prop, it still has the Mercury prop on it however there seems to be a lot of play in it. With everything tightened down properly the prop will move 1/4in back and forth and has some wobble side to side. This does not seem normal to me, is this correct for this motor/prop??
  13. Kris, The club that Logan posted a few post above yours is a very good one and open to non-boaters. I have been a non-boater in it for about 6 years. Check out the website, fishonbassanglers.com, we are in Germantown just a few minutes away from Black Hills.
  14. go to archive.org, do a search for lews.com.
  15. One thing which comes to mind for a sticky in this forum is a listing of items to have in you boat. After just buying a new boat and needing everything it makes me wonder what the experienced boaters have in their boats which may not be as obvious as the normal items like dock ropes. There are the normal state and Coast Guard listings, I am wondering more what is there thru experience.
  16. Details or screen shot of block message? most likely some scripting in an ad that norton doesnt like or false positive. none of my systems are having an issue.
  17. Found the right MotorMate, apparently a size not everyone carries. I was just not looking in the right place. Being a co-angler for so long got to see different ones, liked this one the best. Definitely was not going with a transom saver.
  18. Looking for something like a Motor Mate but having trouble locating what I need. I have a 2015 115HP Mercury ProXS, everything I see shows it for 150hp and higher. Anyone have any suggestions for what to use, not a transom saver, for this motor?
  19. FordsnFishin, go with the 3.5L Ecoboost. Absolutely love mine, hard to beat the low end torque in a gas engine. My wife got her F150 with the 5.0, first time she towed the horse trailer with it she texted me how noticeable the lower power was. And I still get better MPG.
  20. Has anyone purchased a new boat from out of state? Picked mine up from PA yesterday, now need to get paperwork together to get the boat and trailer registered in MD. Knowing how the state can be wondering if there are any known pitfalls to prep for.
  21. Called to often, defense gets the penalty when they are just going in and the ball carrier drops their head into tackle.
  22. Thanks everyone, can't wait to pick it up and get thru all the legal paperwork. Been writing down a list of things I need to get, which is pretty much everything at this point. Love the storage, center rod locker for 8ft rods and how large the front deck is. Painful not being on the water with it.
  23. Just got back from buying a leftover 2015 Ranger RT188, pick it up next Saturday. Has a 115hp Mercury Optimax, so maxed out there. Will be changing out the electronics just don't know what I want yet. Now have to figure out break in for the engine and how will pull that off.
  24. Looking at buying a boat finally, down to 2 choices and looking for others thoughts on them. Either a Ranger RT188 or Triton 18tx. Online research seems to make them appear almost identical, what are the real differences between the two? Dealer choice won't play a part, the closest for each (which is not close) is the same dealer.....
