  1. Just for clarity,what's a go-to? I'm just thinking I don't catch enough fish to have need of a go-to??
  2. I've wondered this myself. I do know full well that the Type R will do everything I'd ask of it. I don't skip with a baitcaster but that is something the SV is supposed to be good at. IF the Tatula SV was a free floater then I'd for sure go with that one, but I don't think it is.
  3. I like 'em! At one time I had every XF spinning rod in the Avid line. I got rid of the 63MLXF(too wimpy for me) but still have all the others. The MXF's are my favorite finesse rods. The 69MLXF is mainly my panfish rod. I've about 5 or 6 Shimano Crucial casting that are XF and love 'em. Like Catt, my preference as well.
  4. I don't catch many fish so nobody pays attention to me anyway!
  5. I do not disagree with this. All of the Tatula models are excellent performers in my opinion, and I have not used the new SV yet.
  6. TD-Z/Fuego...my all time favorite. A well built Fuego/TD-Z will NEVER be outdated! I'm always looking for a nice Fuego.
  7. Too much "beef"? Naw. I typically use beefier rods than most guys for just about everything and have never had this problem with straight mono. Try that!
  8. I use 4lb and 6lb Trilene XT. I do have 2/6 Fireline on my Revo LTX but it's coming off, too much dig.
  9. Back in the day I knew guys who obtained scuba certs and pilots license just for the purpose of tournament "scouting". Imagine spending time on, under and above the water and still not winning?. Now all we gotta do is hit google earth. Time and money saved!?
  10. Producto has the THE best 4" ringworm I've ever used. Once quite popular, Producto is a nobody these days but their worms, pretty much all of them, are still a great buy. Last I bought from them, their quality wasn't what it used to be but they told me they were gonna pick it up. Top quality products... Lunker City deserves a mention in that category. Whatever they cost, they are worth it to me. Zoom is always a solid.
  11. Pinion yoke springs on a few reels I've fixed but I don't think I'd call it real common
  12. Shouldn't this be in the tackle forum?
  13. Back in the late 80's and early 90's there was a Mississippi river smallmouth specific event based out of Anoka. I have not seen any since then that catered strictly to the river rats and smallmouth. It was the only bass tournament I ever fished that did allow live bait and didn't allow largemouth at all. I always chose to stick to artificial lures and always got my butt handed to me by the rats soaking minnows.
  14. If that were mine I'd just clean it and keep right on using it. Doesn't look that bad to me.
  15. I splitshot shallow sandy areas quite a bit!
  16. Ima back-reeler. Much happier there, never a problem. Most of the fish I catch would never pull drag anyway.
  17. Wait now....who's got quilts for sale? And, nice ladder there lonnie g.
  18. Nope. No braid for spinnerbaits either.
  19. What are they going for?
  20. I've always had mine with me. I get checked every year, sometimes several times. I sure wish they'd learn to pull up on my backside rather than the side I'm fishing though. Sometimes those CO's are the most discourteous scoundrels on the lake!
  21. It has caught your eye Raul, you KNOW what you must do!
  22. I'm a horrible deep cranker, it's been years since I've gone beyond 15'
