  1. Never dealt with snakes on the water, but I don't like em' nohow. If I fished in snake country I'd have a machete in the boat and wouldn't give a second thought to dividing one up. Ain't no snake getting in my boat alive!
  2. Confidence soars, love the worm, am a longtime spoonplugger without the spoonplugs(knowledge and experience)...I got this!
  3. Was out today on Chisago for 6 hrs. We (my son and I) caught some fish but worked pretty hard for them, maybe 15 between us and biggest was 17"(x3), most were 13"-14". Surface temps were 58-59 deg. I figured it'd be a tough bite but I was still expecting warmer water. Docks and shoreline with jigs and plastic cigars is what worked. I could find nothing on flats at mid depths with spinnerbaits or jerkbaits. Lake is WAY up.
  4. Pretty much the same for me except I use XT. I've no need of fluorocarbon. Punch and frog with braid and use a little Fireline but most days it's all mono for me!
  5. Pretty much what I was thinking... i was like that's gotta be a slow mover.
  6. I get around a little bit. Chisago area lakes, Aitkin county, Todd county.
  7. What was the weight of your lure? I'm guessing you used #6 Colorado??
  8. Yeah, well I'm deaf so that "call it in" part was a no go for me. Aside from the fact their baits are cool and effective they are also top quality! Yup. I understand....
  9. I don't know exactly when it happened but Lunker City finally allows us to buy direct on-line. I imagine most don't care but I'm a fan and nobody around here carries more than a couple of their baits so I've been waiting (a long time) for this to happen. Barlows had been my best source previously but now, finally, I can get exactly what I want! Anybody else a Lunker City fan?
  10. If I wasn't going to use it much, I'd get the Revros.
  11. I think the T3's are fantastic with the exception of the drag star and handle (I prefer 90mm). I've read the gripes about frame flex and I think that is fabricated BS<snip>. I have tried to induce this in normal use and it has not happened for me. Others have griped about the "hollow" feel under load and I have not experienced that either. I believe these high grade, exotic composites are the future and I like this Zaion stuff! The T3 will fill small hands nicely but I have 2XL mitts and do struggle just a bit with the small size. 3D braking is quite incredible. Overall performance, at least what I've used them for, has been stellar. I would never have given the original $429 retail price but for what they can be had for now they are worth considering.
  12. I don't know who originated sexy shad, I thought it was Strike King, but surprisingly that is one color that has been absolutely working overtime for me. Fish find something attractive about a chartreuse stripe on a bait?? Whatever, I'll keep throwing it.
  13. Curious what you guys have as favorite mids. I think overall mine would be the Rapala DT Flat 7 and the old #7 Fat Rap.
  14. Your only hope is a steel block and wooden mallet to beat it back into shape. If it's cracked at all it'll break and then you need to weld in a new piece. You won't get it perfect but it will be better if you take your time.
  15. I've never managed to get past the Avid so I don't have far to fall back. Pretty happy right where I am.
  16. I like having lots of nice mid-grade junk instead of fewer snooty combos.?
  17. Over the course of my season I'm about 70/30...in favor of casting.
  18. Just a FYI...Rapala has a sale going on with 40% off discontinued/clearance items and free shipping for orders over $49. I had to take advantage as some of my favorites are being discontinued. I only wish I could find some more money!
  19. I don't fish on the opener or holiday weekends. Too much chaos for me. IF I go this weekend I might go to Wisconsin.
  20. I also couldn't see much, if any, difference the few times I've tried. I guess my eyes are just roached.
  21. I never would have been there
  22. I have 2 different Guide Wear suits and would buy nothing else!
  23. Do they have scratchy voices? Always been curious as I've not had one speak to me yet.
