I have not, have never heard of/seen them. Where'd you get them?
I use Boca's for replacements if required, but when I want performance upgrade I'll use Hedgehog from now on. I think they are better.
I don't know for sure about the worm shaft sizes across the different brands but I would think they are all the same size.
I never even look at lure ratings on any rod. I grew up through the broom stick era so I almost always have more rod in my hand than needed. I know what feels right and what doesn't, for me, just based on experience. And when I had no experience I still knew what felt right, just based on common sense.
I agree. But I'm Daiwa biased even though years ago I had several Revo SX gen 1's and liked them. The braking system on the Daiwa is just flat out superior in my opinion and makes for better control.
I've used Siebert's weedless ballheads for years. Always a great choice and have caught lots on these jigs!
A few years ago I found a great compact finesse option in Brad Deal's (Real Deal Custom Tackle) 1/4 oz Pro Flip and 1/4 oz Pro Football. He may not pour the 1/4 oz Pro Football anymore, which is a real shame, because they are a kick ass choice for finesse jig.
After it's all cleaned up and working like new I wouldn't give it up. Finders keepers....period! Whoever lost it probably has another one by now anyway.
I'm hoping to hear more about that one highlighted in bold. I remember what it is and almost bought one myself but hesitated too long. I was concerned it might be too soft but it was a heckuva deal regardless.
I wouldn't ignore those house brand items....
I just wanted to add that some of the "house brand" tackle is actually pretty good stuff for really good prices. An example I can give is the Mean Eye series baits from Cabela's. Great quality hard baits and they have VMC Spark Point trebles on them, which are really decent hooks!. I've just recently bought some of the jerkbaits and they are very close to a Spro Mcstick but half the cost. I have always stuck with my "brands" but now these "house" baits have caught my attention. Some of the plastics are looking pretty good too but I don't know if the savings are there on these as I haven't done any price comparison's yet. Just sayin'...
Good review ghoti, thanks for sharing your opinion!
I've had a pair of these for several years. They are not the first one I reach for but I will agree there is good value in them. I think I'm more in the Snag Proof camp when it comes to frogs, but the one that's caught me the most fish, so far, is a BPS Kermy
I don't do it now, but have in the past during my tournament years. I figure they have enough to deal with without me adding to their problems so I leave 'em be.
Oh...I like the TD-Z/Fuego platform! For me, they require Carbontex drag and 90mm handle at a minimum. I like to add 1016 spool too as I prefer Mag Z over Mag V.
I don't care what they look like and most of mine look absolutely horrible but they function 100% (except one has a bearing on it's way out). I don't build them to wear around my neck, they are for catchin' fish so how pretty they are matters not to me. I really like the 100M for spinnerbaits!
Another big plus...they are super easy to work on!
Well now...that's a mighty impressive collection of jerkbaits! My collection continues to grow but I probably don't have 1/2 of yours by number. Good job!
