  1. Trust me I have this boat. The trolling motor is plenty strong I usually fish on level 2 and when I use level 5 d**n!! she moves through the water. This boat is very light. And i have 2 7ft rods and yes they will fit. If you put them directly in one of the middle holes in the rod box. And the 70 yamaha is awesome.
  2. Listen nra4life, I don't know about your boat, but I fish mine in 2 and 3 ft of water all the time. I also have a couple of friends who have 2 different alum boats. one is a bass tracker 175 tournement. The other is a Fisher 18 ft. I out perform both those boats. MORE stable. I can literally walk on the edge of the boat and it will barely even move. If i did that on there boat it will nearly take on water and dip down. Plus both of them paid more for there boat than I did mine. And one of them has a 50 on his. I got a 70 yamaha, stainlees prop, trailerable boat cover, transem saver, extra fish finder, anchor, anchor rope, ski rope, boat paddle, and 3 life jackets. and everything tax taters and all out the door for 15,000 even. I could not find a better deal nor a better boat and I shoped around for 2 years. I checked out Xpress, G3, bass Tracker, Triton, Skeeter. You name I tested or researched it. And the Stratos 176XT is the best boat for the money. Bottom Line!! Now I admit I think it should be rated for a 90, but I cruise at 40mph with the 70. My boat is even lighter than some of the alum out there. It is all composite. That is the reason Stratos built this boat. To put the alum out of business!!!! They buit it to compete with them.
  3. Strick9 I hate to tell you my fishing stratos friend, but you got ripped off!!! I bought one of the newer 2007 176XT, and the reason I say newer is because my father bought one the same day as well and his steering colum and a few things just look a little different. I bought the blue on white and he bought the white on red. My steering colum is more hi tech looking and the manufacturing dates show mine to be newer by a few months. Anyway the point is this. I bought the boat with a 70 2 stroke yamaha, extra fish finder, transem savor, very nice trailable boat cover, boat paddle, 3 life jackets, anchor, anchor rope, and ski rope, and upgraded to a stainless prop. All for tax taters and everything out the door. 15,000 even. Although, I live in Alabama!! But I will be more than happy to give you the number of the dealership and they can see about shipping you one. The only one complant I truely have about my boat is this. And if you own on be careful. The rear deck fishing chair is mounted to close to the transem. It needs to be about 3 to 4 inches moved toward the front. Because when you get in shallow water and you have to trim your motor up alot the rear seat will spin around and hit the motor and scratch the callon. You can feel free to email me your thoughts on this boat a thorn.wade@lee.k12.al.us
  4. 7.9% for 12 years with no penalty for paying off early. ath 163.00 a month. Insurace is 21.00 a month with state farm. Got a big discount for taking a boaters class. Usually about 35.00 a month.
  5. I own a Startos 176 XT and love it. Check out my post on my boat. it is all composite (no wood) the nitro has wood storage. better built boat and much better resale than the nitro. check out my post and you will see what i got mine for.
  6. check out my post on my stratos 176XT it out preforms, more room, shallow running. than any alum boat and is much cheaper.
  7. read my post on this boat. I own one. and research and compared it to every boat out there the same size both aluminum and fiberglass. and i absolutly love mine. get the max horse power though. I got a 70 yamaha and it is great. I run about 40-41 mph on it.
  8. check out my post on my 176 XT Stratos and this will help you answer your question.
  9. Hey I bought a New 2007 Stratos 176XT. I love it!!! It has great fishing room, handles well, cheap to operate. I have the 70 hourse yamaha on it. I get a max speed of 40 to 41mhp. I traded the alum. prop as part of the selling deal when I bought it with a stainless. It comes from the factory with a 13 x 19 prop. I changed to a 13 1/4 x 17 and I am running nearly the proper max rpms and did not loss any top speed. I am a bit quicker out of the hole shot now. I have grown up bass fishing my whole life with my dad who has been in bass clubs his whole life and I to (now 31) has fished many tourneys with him. So I have been on many different boats during my days of fishing, and I must say for the money the Stratos 176XT is it!! I do wish it was rated for a bit more motor such as a 90, but hey I never caught a bass running 40 mph. LOL And they are some great deals out there. I bought mine fully rigged with an extra fish finder, stainless prop, transem saver, boat cover, 3 life jackets, achor rope and achor, boat paddle, and ski rope. Plus tax and every thing out the door for 15000 even. Go find a brand new bass boat with a name like Stratos anywhere else for that price. I bud has a new bass tracker same size and I way out preform his. Go watch the video on www.stratosboats.com and everything is true. I tried everything on the video. Enjoy and Catchem
