  1. Ok this happened my very first trip out this year. My brother stuck the wrong post into the seat base and then sat on it pretty much making sure it never comes out. The posts at the bow and stern are different sizes compared to the ones at the console. So after lubricating it for the last few months Ive come to the conclusion it aint budging. Plan B was to remove the whole base but the screws holding the base down just keep spinning in the floor of the boat. I tried to slip a flat head screw driver under the base but it's in the floor so tight that it feels like it was glued and I'm damaging(lightly)the floor near the base. Plan C was to just use a screw extractor to remove all screws but I wanted to see if you guys had any better ideas before i go to that.
  2. We've all been to the boat ramp 100's of times and we all know we've seen some head-scratchers. People towing bass boats with sedans and very light trucks. Just try to stay around the tow capacity of the vehicle and you'll be okay. I tow my boat 1200lbs with my Subaru Forester 4cyl and never felt the vehicle struggling going uphill or down Good luck
  3. There's a lot of really good choices in that price range. If I was shopping for myself right now I'd probably get a Loomis GL2 7'1" jig&worm rod $200 paired with a Lew's Tournament Pro Speed $179 Whatever you get I'm sure you'll have buyers remorse I always do
  4. Ever since the beginning of bass fishing we've all owned a "gimmicky" bait/lure from the Banjo Minnow to the Helicopter What's a gimmick bait that works for you? currently for me it's the Culprit Ultimate Topwater Shad
  5. if it's a new unit, did it come with a paper/cardboard template to help mount it?
  6. Rapala DT cranks Even if I catch a dink, they always catch fish for me from early spring to late fall
  7. My very first purchase with Bass Pro back in 1999-2000? I bought about $50 worth tackle and in the box was a $150 pair of binoculars. I called them and reported the mistake and was told I would be sent a return authorization. After 2 weeks I called them and told them I never received it and was told that a return authorization would not be sent to me without an explanation. Back in 2003 i purchased a Pond Prowler trolling motor for a canoe online and it arrived broken via UPS. I called Bass Pro and told them I was leaving for a vacation and was sent another one Next-Day Air along with a return tag for the broken one. Awesome service all the way.
  8. I would like to join a 'get together' at Mashpee-Wakeby if it happens. I am just a little leery of that place between Memorial and Labor. If it does happen I would be happy to supply some grub.
  9. I think I will be able to make the Mashpee-Wakeby 'get together'
  10. My current boat 16ft v-hull with 30hp 4 stroke is appraised at 6000-6500 on NADA In my area if I was to sell right now I would probably ask for $4500 considering economy.
  11. I'm old school saltwater Should I have said soft plastics to fit in?
  12. I just picked up some Revenge football jig heads and need some medium to big rubber baits to go with them.
  13. I don't have the patience for that. Even after removing the fuel line the motor can take quite a while to stall out.
  14. I got the lower unit off. There was a retaining clip with a pin that held the shift linkage in the head. I needed long needle nose pliers to get at it.
  15. I have an 05 Merc 30hp 4 stroke and having some problems getting the lower unit off. I was under the assumption that I didnt have to mess with the shift linkage to get it off but it seems to be stuck at the shift linkage. I just want to hear from someone whether I have to take the carbs off to get to the linkage or something easier. This is my first time doing the impeller myself and trying to learn how to do the "simpler" engine work.
  16. It came out in the early days of braided lines. It kinda reminded me of Yozuri Hybrid with that copolymer feel to it, but I thought it casted a bit better. I loved its durability and while it did have some memory I loved using it for light line applications. It was one of the first monos that had me loyal for a couple of years and usually I have no loyalties to brands.
  17. I am still a firm believer that this line shouldn't have been discontinued. I know it can still be bought on ebay now and then but you never how long or where it's been stored.
  18. Do not skimp on a boat cover. Ive gone through 2 covers in three years while being cheap. I have a local sail maker making me a custom cover right now. It's going to cost between 350-400.
  19. Every year I try and learn and get decent at a new technique. My first year bass fishing(2007) I started with the Senko and did ok. This year I am going to throw tube baits where I would normally throw Senkos.
  20. I just saw this series of bags in person and must say they are very nice. My boat lacks storage and seriously contemplating this bag for durability I'm just trying to get past the prices. Is anyone else considering this bag or something similar?
  21. I work in a tackle shop and you guys have better stuff than i do.
  22. 35....36 march 28th
  23. Just picked this up
  24. I received a few hundred dollars in bass pro gc's so i can pick one of these up in march when i get the boat ready. still 50/50 right now on which one to get
  25. Check the Guideline series. They're actually pretty nice for $60-100. Bass Pro sells them
