My best was 12" caught while fishing for bluegills....completely accidental. I haven't caught another once since then.I'm not even sure it's local to that small lake.very strange to me.

That sucks...you did the right thing. Me personally believes there needs to be stricter punishments for these lowlife cheaters. 5 year suspension,$50,000 fine and unable to purchase a fishing license while on suspension.Then see how many people are willing to cheat.

Weren't you the one who used the phase.. "If you always done what you've done you'll always catch what you catch."? I always took that phase as always trying something new and better to improve yourself.This can fall into the category of someone who uses "fishing history".Fishing history can be a bad thing sometimes.Like Francho pointed out...know "why" your fishing there.I don't think I'll ever fully grasp the why...but I'm trying. I'm shorebound so I'm limited to where and what I can fish sometimes.Which sucks. But then again with your history Catt....I'm quite jealous.....

We went to Delaware Ohio last month for the Zoo down there. I love the outdoors and all the water there...but hated Ohio itself.Maybe I'm just used to living with so many choices for food/gas and shopping malls,but IMO there's really not much down there.I would get bored living there really quickly. I guess I'm not really country living.I like living in the city.People down there seem very quiet. I saw a lot of Amish people down there.....which was something new for me...I didn't know they really existed.

Not yet...i waded the lake yesterday and the and the water still felt pretty warm. Today the temps dropped to 65 for a high and suppose to be in the low 70's for the rest of the week. *edit* I'll take that back now...the shallow river systems are hot,hot hot here.Same thing happened last fall just before they shut down for the winter.My problem is I don't know how long the fall bite lasts around here.Since it's gets colder faster up here.I went through a pack of *secret bait* in less than an hour....I didn't bring any more with me today.D'oh!!! My kid goes back to school tomorrow...I'm gonna go back when I drop him off at the bus stop. I don't have to be at work till 3pm....LOL

I brought one when I moved up here and into our house.Me or my wife don't like driving during the winter for food. So we stock up on meat in it.We like ours and really wouldn't know what to do without it. We got one of the smaller ones,paid less than $100. Best money we've spent. Forgot to mention ours is going on 7 years now....not a single problem with it.

Studies has been shown Bass don't all spawn shallow.I don't believe there's any real concrete proof of that they all spawn shallow. Bass been around for generations after generations...trust me they aren't going anywhere.With the resources now,most people are more knowledgeable in protecting and caring for our fisheries.There's more C&R being practiced more than ever. I don't believe for one minute over population is only in small ponds.I find that hard to believe.

I can understand that....after all I've released back crappies,perch and walleyes simply because of their beauty too. Walleyes and bass are pretty much at the same level of survival....if more people consume walleyes,then I can't see where the Bass population is even hurting if fewer people are taking them home.Specially considering you saying bass don't taste that good. I just find it silly people get all worked up about a fish being taken home when there is hundreds or even thousands more in the lake just like it.

I like the D series better than the E series after owning it for almost a year now. However for the price those E series are selling right now it's a deal.Ain't worth the $179 price tag they had on it though...IMO. Maybe I'm just spoiled by my Daiwa Fuego...I dunno...

Yup,I talk.....specially when I have my buddy with me. We have fun.He's an older retired guy and we enjoy each others company. If I want total peace and quiet I'll go by myself.

I think your wife sees it as needing the money.You don't make much at all to be honest.You got bills to pay too I imagine. I can see your wife's point of view,but in reality family does come first. Hard choice to be honest.

My buddy keeps bass every once in awhile. He C & R more than he keeps that's for sure. But I never have a problem with people keeping bass once in awhile.I never get worked up about it...nobody else should either. A lot of people fish for food....been doing it for generations now.
