  1. Prayers sent!
  2. If I tell you what I use...I'd have to kill you.... Grubs are my "go to" bait when everything else fails. Green pumpkin or watermelon seed are my two go to colors. It's pretty hard to fish them wrong. Experiment using them. Right now I use Zoom's fat albert grub. Kind of playing around with a few others, but Zoom has always been good to me....even though their quality been kind of going down hill lately with 1-3 baits being disfigured...but even those messed up baits still catch fish...so I am not complaining.
  3. Thought I pop in to wish everybody a Merry Christmas! Haven't been fishing much at all. My heart just isn't in to it this year. It's been a nice change to be able to go out fishing in Nov. and Dec. here in Texas instead of being stuck in the house up in Michigan...LOL. Sorry my northern friends.... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's! God bless!
  4. Good Luck and Speedy recovery!
  5. Thoughts and prayers for your sister.
  6. Philospher, banker and natural. I'm out to have a good time. I fished on shores so much that I've figured out just how to catch one when nobody else can. Aslo a natural, fishing just comes to me..... My wife probably left me due to part of my fishing habit.
  7. That orignated out of prison I believe....which is where most of them are headed for.
  8. Waxahachie(ellis county) is a great place too.... My brother lives in Mckinney, but also a nice area and like someone mentioned it's #1 place to live. Mckinney traffic is bad though(least I thought it was). Waxahachie, you can pretty much drive 30 minutes or less and be in DFW or all the other surrounding cities. we are building up pretty fast out here as well. The schools are EXCELLENT here. Plenty of country around here and I doubt horses will be any issues. taxes are getting bad in DFW......As much as I like DFW area...I wouldn't really want to live there. I grew up in Dallas for the most part.
  9. Whoa there's smallmouths in Texas?
  10. Be careful what you say online man...... I feel your pain..My wife up and left me last month. I ended up going back to Texas with my parents. The pain was too great to deal for me by myself up there. I really didn't have a family support system there(basically didn't really know how to deal with it)....I love a lot of her family members there and still do. But I lost the only reason I went up there and that was her. Just remember though...Blood runs thicker than water. My sister in law told me that and she's been through 3 divorces(bad ones). She's been helping me understand. .
  11. I'm close to 100...possibly more.....Never counted them to be honest.
  12. my ex wife of recent deleted me off.... I need to do the same, just haven't gotten around to do it. No need to see their posts or vice versa. It'll just cause drama. I have a hard time deleting some of her family off though(because of my son)....soon as they start anything they are gone. I don't post on facebook anymore anyways. If you have a new person in your life, get rid of your exs. Leave the past where it is...in the past.
  13. I'll be back for sure. Right now I just got to get things straighten out and do what i need to do. You guys have no idea how of a impact and support you have been in all your own little ways. It means more to me than you can imagine. I believe this will make me a better person in the long run...I feel that I already am. I thank you guys for all the advice. My parents have been a big help on the phone from TX . I truly do have have great parents and friends and I thank God for that every day.
  14. I'm having some extreme personal problems. Wife left me and I've been an emotional wreak for the past month almost now. No reasons other than she just wanted to be "free". I never saw it coming. I've been prayer non stop since this has happened and just leaving this all to God.(sorry to get a bit religious here) I may not be back for a long while online. I just want to say thanks to Glenn for this board. I don't see myself staying up here in MI. for long. I'm here in the house by myself with no family support system.Walking into a dark house every night not being able to kiss my son or hug my wife has been like a sword into my heart. It's been one emotional roller coaster for me. I know it's not a great idea to air out personal business online, but this place has become somewhat a second place in my home. Just coming to read the silliness here has cheered me up in some ways. Maybe one day I can make the roadtrip someday to meet some of you guys. On top of all of that my computer has been overheating and not working right. I just don't see myself fixing it anytime soon. I want to say thank you to all the friends I made here. God Bless Matt
  15. My goal is to break into the 6lb class here in MI. I don't care if it's a largemouth or smallmouth....I just wanna break pass the 5lb mark. I'm not even sure i could get a 10lb'er even if i was in the south somewhere. You still gotta know where they are and get them to bite. So far I'm failing....2 1/2 pound is the heaviest I caught this year.
  16. I agree with spanking, but I'm told you can get into serious trouble for it. My mother in law got sent to jail for spanking her youngest daughter when she was in middle school. There's a longer story to this....but the police officer told her she cannot touch a child(spank) for any reason what so ever. The mother in law is not a bad mother either...I know her pretty well now and agree with a lot of things she says. In this scenario, we would have taken the kid back home and he would have been grounded from games and TV. According to everybody here that's the only way to punish kids(absolutely cannot touch or hit them). I always get into an argument with everybody here about the spanking issue. So it's even harder for me,because I still believe in old school discipline.
  17. Assuming you are talking about soft plastic worm binder? Anything that has a zipper(I really mean that) . I got mine from Dicks sporting goods and it has served me well. I paid around $20+ for it...can't remember the exact price of it anymore.
  18. Tell them to learn to handle the fish correctly. Seriously? Cutting the line isn't doing anything but hurting the fish. not cool.......
  19. I don't know, you'll have to ask the Bass why they bite those chartreuse colored lures. But they do bite them. We can only speculate why they bite them. Chartreuse color works really well in clear water for me. My favorite trick stick worm color is pumpkin/chartreuse tail
  20. yes, stick to Shimano. They make great Bass fishing gear as well.A lot of Shimano fans around this place and for a good reason. Shimano makes good gear. While Quantum gets bad rep from people around here I haven't had a bad experience with them. Personally I'd go for the Shimano Core. Why don't you just get one Shimano and one Quantum? Since you are looking for two reels. I'm not really brand loyal to be honest. I like Daiwa reels the most to be honest.
  21. It's not the same for me....On cloudy days i find them more scattered and harder to catch.
  22. Big combination of color, style, price and recommendations. Also having luck on a brand makes me consider that brand's other lures as well. It's not just one thing that catches my eyes.
  23. So it is an old wives tale? Honestly I never tried it,matter of fact I heard it on here a long while back.
