  1. someone will probably tell me my idea is bad, but ive got some pro series 100 pinnacles that are really smooth, great casting reels (freshwater only more or less...dont fair too well in salt) but they are only $45 a peice and i love them...just a thought if you do mostly freshwater fishing
  2. front of boat, turn it to where prop faces back to go forward (done it many times going backwards like that in a jon boat. I would assume same basic idea, bigger boat.)
  3. HI, Im kinda new too. if your ever in the CS (college station) area we can go fishing, i know this great place down the road from the college that isnt fished very often. Welcome.
  4. no sir i most certainly have not fly fished before, well ive done it once and fell in love with it, so im gettin into it. But my father has and he has everything, fly tying stuff and he knows all about it, I just need a place to get line. Because im lost and bass pro shop, only place i know of around here that would have it, is an hour away :-/ and thanks so much for not being stupid and asking basically asking me if im retarded. I appreciate it.
  5. Ever cast, get hooked by ur little cousin and while ur digging a 4/0 true turn outta your back, land a 3 pounder? Kinda sucked reeling that in with a hook in my shoulder blade.
  6. well academy dont sell it and no more oshmans near me, bass pro shop like an hour away, fishing tackle unlimited only have salt water and trout line. someone told me that they made line specifically for bass and i havent seen anything like that around here
  7. im down in texas, we gettin it too...im throwing worms and they are eatin them up. My lake i throw 4 inch pumpkinseed crawls...bites every 5 to 10 casts when i go
  8. where can i get some fly line for bass fishing? without ordering off the internet. just got some new gear and im goin this weekend but i need some line thanks
  9. if you dont care about it beng low profile...garcias are cheap and last forever...as for rods...goto academy and wait till they have a sale on them...i got two castaway rods last summer for $50 on a buy 1-get-1-fre deal...just call every sunday and ask if they have deals...call sunday around 1 and they should ave all their sales up by then...i would buy rod/reel separate too..i worked at academy for a summer and the combos really arent worth the money, and you cannot always find what you want/need in them. But thats jut my advice.
  10. watch or stumps in shallow water...great way o tear up a boat
  11. hmmm, ok thank you...they are totally different then what i was thinking. lol, i been trying to figure out how they worked for a while. thanks a bunch
  12. Im new to the whole fishing from a boat and am going to get a jon boat and modify it this summer and i see a bunch of people using the onboard battery chargers/maintainers. i was wanderin if anyone knew how those worked. do you have to plug them into a source, or what?
  13. cool, well as far as i know the lake im fishing isnt too terrible big, i only fish two places, gibbons creek, and a private lake on my familys ranch, the private one is only like 2 or 3 acres and gibbons is something like 30...i think, not for sure, but it doesnt seem too big. I have just been reading a lot and everyone is sayin that 15 is best for it, and i didnt know if my little 6 would be able to get the boat where it needs to go, i been usin a trollin motor on my private lake and have never messed with gas thanks man
  14. I have recently moved off to college and have found a beautiful lake to fish on right outside town, im going to start turning a jon boat into a bass boat or whatever this summer...and for a motor, my dad has an old like 6 horses motor that the engine needs to be rebuilt that i can get done basiaclly for free. would it be worth it for me to use that motor or should i try to find a lil bit bigger motor
