  1. Heheh love the drama. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Rapala is definitely trying to stay "cool" what with the X-Rap brand and such. You can't blame them they don't want to be known as the lure grandpa used. Personally I think Rapala is a fine brand and if the Thug performs as advertised it will be a good bait.
  2. Anyone tried these? It's suppose to come through cover better, and rip through weeds better. This is attractive to me since this is all I fish and love cranking. How good is it? http://www.rapala.com/products/luresdetail.cfm?modelName=dt_thug&freshorsalt=Fresh
  3. No way. Then the nut jobs of the world learn nothing, and this behavior becomes acceptable. This guy needs to be disciplined. Sure he does, but that's how you get yourself killed. Avoid these people they aren't worth the risk.
  4. I just bought a Plano Guide Series 3334 on clearance at ***. Looks like it will work really well for my bank fishing needs. I'll let you know what I think once it arrives. http://www.***.com/descpagePLANOBAG-PGSHB.html
  5. Find somewhere else to fish and forget about it. Life's too short to worry about this nut job.
  6. Like everything else in life, you'll be safe as long as you don't do anything stupid. Wear a life jacket and you can survive most anything that will happen in a jon boat
  7. Thanks Primus, I do plan to get some Flatt Shads! I have a bunch of Red Eye's so I thought I might try modding a few to get a different sound/no sound.
  8. What techniques do you'll use to stop a rattle bait from rattling? Specifically, I would like to take the rattle out of Red Eye Shads. Thanks for any help you can provide!
  9. Check out this site dedicated to the topic: http://tinboats.net
  10. Get a DVR and your life will be much happier. I can watch a fishing show in about 5 minutes. I fast forward through all the commercials, and fast forward through all the fluff. I only stop to watch when they actually provide some useful tid-bit of information like what they are using, how deep they are fishing, why the fish are doing what they are doing, etc.
  11. I tend to talk to the bass a lot. Things like "now don't do that" and "c'mon honey don't be like that". You know how it goes...
  12. Lucky Craft RC 1.5 crankbait. Absolutely deadly when banged and bounced of the wood.
  13. Hey guys just so you know I still love ya and didn't mean any harm with this threadd I went fishing last night and caught my first Ragetail bass Caught her on a Green Pumpkin RT worm. She was minding her own business about two feet off those reeds in the back ground when the 'ole RT worm happened by and as KVD would say, she "just couldn't stand it".
  14. HA! I bet you spent a lot of time watching the clock last night. Nothing worse than knowing you are getting up super early to fish but you can't fall asleep. So you finally fall asleep and then seemingly 30 seconds later the alarm rings. ARGH! :
  15. I've bought several packs and indeed they look awesome and I like hearing people report how good they are at catching fish. I haven't caught any on them yet but that's because I haven't fished much this year. When I have fished I've had a Ragetail tied on pretty much every time - just not getting much time on the water. To me the amount of hype seems - pardon the pun - fishy. I see trip reports with "secret" Ragetail baits blacked out. Guess it's just me reading too much into the hype. I could see a big bait company paying people to post on forums to increase hype over a bait. Carry on folks, make sure you have your Sex Shad Shimano reels oiled and greased properly
  16. Heheh you're awesome. Yes I've bought some Ragetails and they are excellent baits.
  17. This sight must be getting paid a fortune to market the Ragetail baits. Every forum is packed top to bottom with some reference to Ragetail. Give it a rest already
  18. Wow, even if you sold the metal for scrap you'd probably break even Good luck and if you haven't checked out tinboats.net take a look - lots of experience on the forums. http://www.tinboats.net
  19. You might find the information you're looking for here: http://ncangler.com Lot's of NC anglers hang out and help each other out, stop by!
  20. Check out the http://ncangler.com forums, there have been some post recently regarding boat repair.
  21. Hmmmm I was at a fishing show this winter and Dean Rojas demonstrated how he ties on one of his signature frogs. He cinched the overhand knot as well before pull the bait through the loop. He was using braid and a double palomar which may make a difference.
  22. Take it to the lake and put the boat in the lake. Paint trailer. Take boat out of lake and go home.
  23. Hummingbird portables get good reviews. I have the Eagle Fishmark 320 portable and it works fantastic.
  24. Can't go wrong with an Abu Garcia Revo SX. Simply a phenomenal reel.
  25. I have one and it is a great reel for the price. Casts like a dream, drag and spool control is easy to adjust. I highly recommend.
