  1. TRy that Heavy Spinnerbait Idea, that has worked for me for largemoiuth and some good sized smallmouth. Use a Flourescent color so the fish can get a good look at it. Also TRy Crawling a DT Hula Grub on a Jighead, It is a perfeect Ledge fishing combo, Drag it over the ledge and let it slowly fall right on top of those suspended fish.
  2. I was talking to a yamaha pro i know and he was trying to say that his V-Max Walks, not speeds, walks past an E-Tec. But he runs a Skeeter, and he sadi he walks past the Ranger. So the ETEC IS REALLY GOOD, I saw it first HAnd at a Tournament and that Thing Flew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
  3. I dont think he makes the decision, the producers do, also they probably have the Challengers already picked out for the next year, so i think we are hopefully on the top of the list for next years season.
  4. I am going to start taking my 5 year old nephew fishing this year, so far he has only got to watch bassmaster and His dad has an olod fishing game on PS2 that i help him play.
  5. I go along with the puzzle, when your not catching fish, you are not adapting to that one variable that you missed.
  6. I have a lake like that hat i fish on, a guy one a small tournament by Throwing a wacky rigged senko and letting it Flutter down to 50 feet and he came i with a huge sack. With these kinds of lakes i would say focus your attentions on dropshotting, jigging spoons, DT Hula Grubs on jigheads and Wacky rigged senkos down deep. Then if you see a big fish throw a wacky rigged senko or even better a Slug-Go, it has alot better action for cruising fish. Also, most of the time Big Bass when Cruising arent looking for food, they are moving to a different piece of structure to be able to ambush their prey. So which ver way the bass is heading. Fins that Laydown and FISH IT HARD, it pays off!
  7. Hooksets are free Fish Slow, But fast Pay attention to nature
  8. There are main lake points, which are the big ones pointing out towards the main lake. Secondary points are points within a bay, cove or creek which point out into the middle of the creek, cove, arm, channel, etc. and are not in the main lake. I would put a map up that as the actual showing of these points, but i cant find one accesibe right now.
  9. I agrre with Senko on this one, I was with ESOX until a got into a lenghty discussion with a NW Lamiglas Rep and we talked for another month or so and he decided to talk to the president, and the president put me on their Regional Pro Staff. That was partial hook-up/self gain. OE was self gain/ REGULAR CUSTOMER/ sent resume, came to agreement The rest mainly I met with the owners and got to know them pretty well and they asked me to join there pro-staff. Lastly, FishHedz- I got suckered into that $90 deal McCoy- on ASM staff which has over 130 people, but i the youngest one and they treat me real good, about 1/2 of my line orders are given to me free by the ASM manager. so i am really happy with their product and their service Advice: Really dont try and gain sponsors right now, but if you do, remember to be proffesional, dont pay any money to be sponsored, and if you do get sponsored, make sure everytime you work for them at a booth they give you something in return. SPONSORSHIPS GO LIKE THIS: you help them out, then they help you out.
  10. first try and unravel it with rod, then if that doesnt work, pick it out. PREVENT: dont get so much line twist, sometimes that causes even more tangles on rod tips
  11. Green Pumpkin Watermelon/ red and black flake BABY BASS, perfectly mimics many types of sunfish Also Junebug is good

  16. Also th thing is that in Washington, almost NO Money in the WDFW is put aside for warmwater fish, all the money and support comes from the federation.
  17. http://theolympian.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060217/OUTDOORS0201/602170316/1038/OUTDOORS This article talks about how we try and keep all of our beloved bass safe and let the salmon die. Its Called the FOOD CHAIN/ECOSYSTEM THE COLUMBIA IS ONE OF THE BEST SMALLMOUTH RIVERS IN THE WORLD I might be overeacting but when i first read it really lit my fire >
  18. All of my lakes are stocked with trout, My favorite is a Zoom Fluke, or a Ghost baits G-stick in rainbow trout color and working them as jerkbaits. No need to throw huge swimbaits in northern Lakes, all you need is a 6 inch swimbait or a HUGE Crawfish Immatitor.
  19. I would say lok for a champion or a Ranger in that year model.
  20. My favorite Technique by far: Slow-Rolling a Spinnerbait- Gear- Lamiglas 664 Certified Pro MH action /Mod-fast Tip, Daiwa Advantage Reel Line- McCoy 10-12 lbs. test Fav. Spinnerbait: HART Black/Red double Colorado Blade Spinnerbait Time of Year- Prespawn, Late summer, Fall What to look for: Weedbeds next to a creek channel or drop off, or timber next to a drop-off What are the Fish Doing? when using this technique?: Fish are coming up form the drop off or creek channel, weedline focusing on Bluegill, shad, Rock Bass, Bream, maybe a couple in a very small school roaming the very top of the weedbed in anywhere from 3 to 8 feet of water, The reason the Baitfish are on here is either it is weed growing seasonin which plankton, critters are livin on top of the weeds soakin in the sun, or its weed dying season in which decomposing critters move to the top of the weedbed which bream feed on. action- slow roll a spinnerbait right above the weeds or 2-3 feet above weeds and let the spinnerbait fall into the weeds then pop out. also you can burn it then totally kill it for 5 seconds then rip it out as hard as you can. It looks to the fish like a baitfish diving into the weed bed for a critter then pooping back out. I hope these tips help you Catch more fish Slow rolling a spinnerbait. -Nick
  21. Go with either a Yamaha, or an EVINRUDE, thos new 2 stokes are NICE. My friend has a Honda on hos boston whaler, NO ACCELARATION!!!!!!!!!!! OK TOP END
  22. LBH, i think i mixed up the speeds on my thread after reading your qoute. I guess i thought that bass were powered by nuclear power!!LOL
  23. I red somewhere in an In-Fisherman bass book that a largemouth can go up to 35MPH at a 20 foot radius, A smallmouth can go 5 mph more in a 20 foot radius. Out fo that radius they cant go very fast, unlike a sailfish, tuna which could go that speed for hours
  24. If you contact you local Department of Fish and Wildlife office, they have either pages or pamphlets that have a list of all the lakes that have Warmwater species and they show what type of fish are in this lake, and the length limits, special rules. Also, for average size try and get a warmwater summary book DNR, DFW, or any local state wildlife office should have them availiable. It shows research done on specifics lakes.
  25. Water Clarity, Depth, Baitfish
