  1. I had similar loading issues with my Crestliner with a 115/80 jet as well. I'm primarily fishing in the Susquehanna as well and the combination of the jet motor having very vague low speed steering and the current of the river makes it challenging to load. I put a set of 5 foot long bunk guide on's on my trailer to center the boat up as you load it,.

  5. Just an FYI....St Croix has a retired Bass X 7'2" Medium Heavy Moderate for $60 on their website. I know you were asking about Lew's rods but it a great deal on a similar rod.

  7. Welcome!
  8. I grew up fishing from the bank on a medium size creek. Twenty years ago we started going to a summer cottage on a lake that was owned by my wife's parents. We bought a used 20 foot Wellcraft bow rider to take the kids tubing on the lake. As the kids got older we sold the Wellcraft and I bought a 14 foot jon boat with a 9.9 outboard so that I could fish on the lake. I was going out on the Susquehanna from time to time but felt really limited in the jon boat on the Susquehanna. Last year I had the opportunity by a larger boat and found my current, a 17 foot Crestliner with a mercury jet. I had been wanting to buy a bigger boat for many years...but it worked out that I could do it last year.
  9. There is a small park on the Marysville side that has good wading access. Just be careful as there are some huge rocks. You think you are walking on the bottom and you step off what turns out to huge rock.
  10. Before I would use Golf gloves I would go to a uniform/police supply house and get a set of bates patrol gloves. They are short thin tough leather gloves designed to be worn on patrol. They would be alot tougher than golf gloves and still give you the feel you need.
  11. I am running a 17 foot Crestliner with a 155/80 Mercury Jet.
  12. I fish mainly in the Susquehanna river so I need something that handles skinny, rock filled water. My boat is a 2015 Crestliner 17 foot with an 80 horse Mercury Jet. This was the picture from the dealership where it came from last year.
  13. I just heard Alex Davis talking about about his favorite rod for Spinnerbaits is a 7'3" Glass Curado and like to pair it with a 150 reel.
  14. Long time lurker and went to the Bass Fest 2025 at Susquehanna Fishing Tackle last weekend. This really has me ready to fish (although it's way too cold for me right now). But it also makes me want to learn more about where to find fish and how to get them in the boat. I am located in the Harrisburg area and do alot of fishing in the Susquehanna. Hoping to learn new sections of the Susquehanna this year (mainly fish at Goldsboro) and visit some of the local lakes as well.
