  1. Those three Abu Garcia rods you mention, did they have those at Bass pro shop? I have a Bass pro shop about 90 minutes from here, maybe I'll take a ride. I was at Cabela's but they didn't have much that I cared for there.
  2. Hi A Jay . This characteristic wasn't very uncommon. As I said above, it was not an exotic rod, these were pretty common in the late '90s early 2000s. These were like $65 rods at the time. Fenwick eagle, pretty common rod then.
  3. Need help please. Looking for spinning rods. Coming back to fishing after over 15 yrs away. Career, kids, life...etc ... Anyways, i fished the upper delaware, Deposit/Hancock NY and Cannonsville reservoir below my cabin from around 1977-2007 and most of the 90's jetting the Susquehanna Pittston to Wyalusing , before alotta jets on there . Anyways, I always preferred weightless feeling rods, stiff and with a stiff tip...and full cork handles ... Just pulled out my old favorite but i'm having a very hard time finding anything like it today . Wasn't an expensive, exotic rod . It's a Fenwick Graphite, 5'9" M (Medium?) says ES59 . I will attach some pics . To me, this rod feels nearly weightless and the tip is nice and stiff . I always ran either 6lb Trilene extra limp in the reservoir (no snags) or 6-8lb in the rivers (have spare spools) . I went looking for rods at cabelas ...no luck, so if i break this one im $crewd . Most of the rods i tried recently to me just seem too wobbly, slow recovery, too soft tip and/or too heavy and the handles are ugghh ! The closest thing to my old fenwick i found was a St Croix Premier 6'6" PS66MF2sg (the 6' version was nice too) . I bought the 6'6", nice rod but... i'm not a big fan of the handle, palm of my hand is resting on threads and overall it's a little heavier feeling . The handle on my old Fenwick is much nicer in the hand . I also have an old Berkley Pro Signature med-heavy "Wormin" PSB 27-6 im6 rod ....this to me is even closer in feel and action to the St Croix Premier i bought . Both these rods are probably 20 years old ... can't remember . I would love to find anything like them today...and i'm not brand loyal . I'm trying to find rods like this so i have spares. If i break this fenwick, not only am i out but i have nothing to campare to. Seems today reels are better and cheaper but rods...not so much. Last pic is my Berkley/Fen/StCrx . Unrelated but, I also have some Browning Medallion and Trophy Tamers for trolling the reservoir too. Thanks !
