  1. What’s everyone’s favorite bfs rod? Ideally want something that can handle everything from the Karashi and small trebles to 1/8oz jig and 3” minnows
  2. That honestly sounds great. I’m gonna give it a go. Can pick it up right now for a good price. The length seems perfect to me
  3. Interesting I hadn’t considered this model. Actually saw one available at a decent price. Assuming it just has a deeper bend to it? Really if the rod can handle dt-8 and up I’ll be very happy. The 18” handle on the 906 from my kayak sounds like it would be a problem
  4. looking to pick up one of these 2 rods. Any experience/opinions on each? Looking for something to handle mainly mid cranks with the occasional deep diver like a tactical DD, DT 16, or deep X 300. Will the 845 be able to handle these or is the 906 necessary?
  5. Love it. Exactly what I was hoping to hear. Going out tomorrow and gonna start it off rigged with a 3/8 beast coast little magnum! Thanks brotha
  6. Hey - circling back to this. Can the 843c handle the same bottom contact techniques as the 853? Obviously probably not as perfect for it, but def doable? Specifically 1/4oz t rigs with craws and finesse jigs (the specific ones you mentioned)
  7. Was a like new buy from The Hook Up with their spring sale on used rods. Out of the 893’s but a few other models still available and amazing prices
  8. Yep just pulled the trigger. Thanks yall
  9. That’s what I’m thinking too. Especially getting it at $400. The 7’5 length will def be new for me but I may end up really liking it
  10. Yeah the X bites is intriguing for sure. I wouldn’t be buying jdm just bc to me I can get P5’s from US brand new for about $380 which is similarly priced to the jdm after shipping costs. Can also get an 893 for $400 right now but I prefer the 85” rods usually out of my yak so just a bit torn. This rod really would just be always sitting with a 3/16-5/16 bullet weight at all times. Have my other bases covered
  11. interesting. Wasn’t expecting to hear that the sensitivity was as good as the nrx’s. I have an 843c mbr, 854, 873 and was wondering if adding either X bites or the 853/893 would be a good addition. I’ve heard the xbites can feel mushy at times. I’m usually throwing 1/4oz tungsten + 4” craw like rage craw, xzone adrenaline craw, or 3.5” dolive beaver
  12. Which would you choose for 1/4oz Texas rigs and maybe some free rigging 1/4-3/8oz
  13. What do you guys prefer and why? Straight fluro or braid to fluro leader for: - Jigs - Chatterbaits - Cranks - Topwater
  14. Honestly I haven’t purchased a single rod at retail price. Usually wait until I have 20% or more off before I pull the trigger on any of them. Tons of good deals out there all the time just gotta keep an eye out! Took some time but happy I was able to get everything together for the power pitch, it’s my newest addition and 100% can handle 3/4 oz jigs. It’s rated up to 1.5oz. I just fish shallow water more often than not and rarely throw 3/4 but have no hesitation doing so when needed. Now I wouldn’t use it to throw into absolute slop/for punching but in moderate cover it excels and is one of the best jig rods I’ve found. It’s awesome around docks and bed fishing in the spring. Daiwa did an amazing job with this new Steez lineup and usually can find them close to $350 on second hand market
  15. Been debating this myself lately! And have come to the conclusion that I need about 6 casting rods and 2-3 spinning rods to feel fully covered on the waters I fish. Now I chose to go higher end models since I narrowed down my # of rods and am a bit addicted but concept of less is more remains true.
