  1. I'd say if you want it, as long as you have the money, have plenty of food on the table, your kids have good shoes...and your wife says okay, then buy what you want. Those folks are probably just jealous. I literally have a river cane pole rigged with twine and mono that i catch fish with... but i also have several rods and reels that I've spent hundreds on. Ignore them.
  2. I remember the big fish, yessir! Luckily my memory seems to automatically add a pound or two each time i recall those catches. 😊
  3. Have you been to my neck of the woods, Glenn? 🤣 You're right though...i just have to drive a mile or so to get a good somewhat reliable signal.
  4. Thanks again, Glenn. Always informative. 👍
  5. Bon Chrismeusse!
  6. Changed my "Saved" login to email. 👍
  7. Yes. Still have some Mann's, some The Tube Worm's and Creme's pre-rigged from 40+ years ago (my grandfather's before he died). Creme are still making these.
  8. Yeah...dang things have taken over down here (Arkansas/ Louisiana). Thanks a lot catfish farmers. 😠
  9. Years ago, i was fly fishing from a john-boat on a private lake with my brother-in-law, lost my grip on a Cortland Embassy Reel and White River rod. Over it went. I may have managed to grab it had i just squatted down a grabbed it, but...I panicked and jumped in after it. Never saw the rod or reel again. Took me a while to pull myself back into the boat with sop-n-wet denim overalls.
  10. Like many of you, I take my reels apart once a year and give them a good cleaning and fresh oil. Don't have the fancy tools, but i like the looks of some of the tools posted above.
  11. Excellent video, Glenn. After watching your video through twice, i dug my Silver Minnows out from my tackle bag. Honestly haven't used one in...i don't know when. Can't wait to get out on the water (perhaps tomorrow), skirt one up and see what happens. Thanks again. I've heard some soak their peanuts in PowerBait (or similar) attractant to scent their tubes. Ever tried that? Think it helps?
  12. I was wondering about that.
  13. Love fishing the pads. Gotta try the added spinnerbait skirts to the silv minnows. Never occured to me to do that. Thanks, Catt. Fished all my life, but I'm really learning a lot from you guys on this forum. Great stuff! 👍👍
  14. Great stuff, Blake. Been tying for years, but just getting in to tying jigs and bass poppers/bugs. I'm a bit behind finding your thread here, nevertheless...thanks for posting the pics!
  15. Cool. Thanks for the info and links. Looks interesting. 👍
