  1. Yes, there will be many opinions. Foe me the two I like and depending upon use, are Lews LITE and Cabelas Archnid.
  2. Yes. It's not set up very well for fishing, but at least I can get on the water.
  3. I just arrived in Green Bay. I don't know where to go? Any tips for nearby? Within an hour or two? I brought limited gear but have a couple of days to fish. I appreciate any tips of where and what species.
  4. Nice. I'll be in Green Bay the end of May and hope to fish a few days.
  5. #SenkoDeMayo now has non fishing people using it. It's funny. If you're on Twitter search the hashtag #SenkoDeMayo
  6. I use 7/0 Owner worm hooks. (Not EWG.) edit: i was interrupted earlier. Let me finish. I've caught a lot of 8-10 lb. bass on 10" worms. Heavy and extra heavy 7'6" Kistler Rods. Daiwa Tatula reel. 20 and 25-pound Invisx line. Half ounce tungsten weights. It is big fish combat gear for sure.
  7. I have a Browning graphite rod I bought in the '80s and it still is the most sensitive rod I have. It was about $200 back then, by far one of the most expensive production rods at the time.
  8. Well, what can you do when that's no longer a standard color and size. Watch, now that I have a lifetime supply, they'll bring it back. I have sold some (20 bags) in my bass club. I pre sold those before ordering. (I won several big bass trophies with those and guys were looking for some: I created demand.) $50/bag. $5.75 shipping. Hint, hint. I'll sell about 10 more bags if interested.
  9. Check out the color in my post. Smoke/hologram. Best clear water color I use. Yamamoto doesn't make it in 6-inch anymore so I had to buy the whole production run. 37 bags of 50 count.
  10. We're trying a social experiment on May 5. We're trying to get #SenkoDeMayo to trend tomorrow especially on Twitter. But it I'm using it on all of my social media accounts. I'm adding #bassfishing too. I have no affiliation with Yamamoto Baits other than I buy a lot of Senkos. This could be fun or a big bust. Who knows.
  11. I use face protection (Simms), sun sleeves, and sun gloves.
  12. I own 50-plus rods from many major brands. I'm in the process of acquiring all Kistlers now. I will be selling several Lamiglas and maybe a Loomis. Maybe some others too. The other rods I'm giving to my brothers
  13. I use Paycheck Baits Transporter. I change the hooks to a larger size.
  14. I'm so sorry for you guys that have to face those conditions. We had 86 degrees today. I bet we'll see spawning soon. I lived in Wisconsin till I was 18. You would think I would be used to the cold. Nope. Give me a 100 degrees any day.
  15. Utah has fairly good lakes for bass. I lived there for 30 years. If I can help, let me know. I can offer long distance advice. If you want giant smallmouth, try Midview on the Ute tribal lands near Myton.
  16. Fishing: #BlackBassFriday
  17. Monster Fishing Tackle already has their 20% off sale on now (and their prices are pretty good to begin with, so another 20% is a good deal on many items).

  19. Mmmmm. I just bought a bunch from a co-worker who hasn't fished in 10 years. Many still in the original package. I might have to eBay some. I'd more than double my money. I bought some spinner baits of a discontinued product too. Got big fish and 2nd place in last week's tournament with them. He's cleaning out his old stuff and gives me first choice.
  20. FYI Kistler Z-bones on sale for 40% off when you buy 3. Best price I've seen in a while. Got an email today. Sale not listed on website. http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/render?ca=a9feaae4-19cc-4976-b91b-6701e66df87b&c=e3d196a0-330a-11e3-b384-d4ae52844372&ch=e5073070-330a-11e3-b4ae-d4ae52844372
  21. This surprises me. But I usually communicate online. And I know what I want so I just order. Luckily I'm in Texas so I often get my orders in one day if it's in stock.
  22. Only issue I had was a hook keeper broke. They fixed it and I had the rod back in a couple days. If you like to throw weightless Senkos, get the Kistler Z-bone 7'6" number 3 weight rod. I have 4, two have spiral wraps. They cast far, are very sensitive and handle landing big fish.
  23. In the last two months I bought 3 Kistler Z-Bones and 3 KLX. I am frugal, but I buy hi-end stuff. I signed up for email alerts on Kistler website and buy when they have big sales. I save for these times. I got the 3 KLX 7'11" rods for about 130 ea. Vs. 219 or 229 list price. (The discounted price included redeeming points from previous purchases.) I now have 25 or more Kistlers and my sons each have close to 20. These purchases have been over the last 6 yrs. So they don't break the bank. I'm done buying for a while (well maybe a new spinning rod next spring). So, the heavy 7-11 KLX paired with an Arachnid throws a frog impressively far.
  24. I have two Tat-R and two Cabelad Arachnids. Very similar reels. I like em all. Arachnid has more bearings and is found at Cabelas. Hence, costs more. But watch for Cabelas sales and use any coupons and the price is then about the same. I use these with 20 and 25- lb. flouro or 65-lb braid. Even with the heavier line they cast far. I haven't tried lighter line on them. I know they weigh more than other reels I use a lot, but I got these for big baits and heavy rods: Flipping, frogs, and lighter Swimbaits. The line capacity is just right for my needs. My Lews Tournament or Team LITE are my lighter line (15lb) set ups. The Tats have been flawless for me.
